Socially Branded Journalism: Crossing the Generational Divide
On February 27th, 1968 Walter Cronkite closed his broadcast by introducing “an analysis that must be speculative, personal, [and] subjective.” He was of course talking about the Vietnam War, and in particular the Tet offensive. While those of us who have not yet cracked the half century mark in terms of years on this planet may have only a general awareness of what history has told us was a “police action” that could not be won, Cronkite’s words created a ripple effect that unknowingly and ironically has come to symbolize our fast paced, 7/24 instant access social media world.

Market Your MAGIC 5 SelfMarketing Strategies for Success
The ability to market yourself internally within an organization or within your industry can boost your career and personal fulfillment. It can make the difference between people remembering you as a brilliant leader and contributor, or barely remembering you. I created a “MAGIC” formula for success, based on 5 aspects of effective self-marketing: improve your Manner (the way you walk, talk, meet people, and treat people) create Advocates (people who create “buzz” about you and your company or services.), Grow (grow in craft, market and self), get Involved (in internal and external groups, etc.), and create Commentary (speak up at meetings, write articles, etc.). MAGIC reinforces P.T. Barnum’s principle: “Without promotion, something terrible happens … nothing.” You can use my MAGIC formula to unleash your potential and achieve goals.

How Small Business Owners Can Blog for Profits

What are the benefits of a CRM system in your business? Part 1
The concept of CRM has been around for a long time. The original form of CRM was a manual card system kept by a sales person that usually sat on the sales person's desk or alongside them in the car. These client cards sets were very valuable to the sales person as this is where they kept important customer information such customer contact details, key contacts in the company, a running commentary on their activities, personal and product preferences, buying patterns, business connections and so forth. Each card was a dossier on each client. To successful, well managed sales people, their client cards were gold.

Can You Successfully Carry a Message to Garcia?
Successful people commit to taking personal responsibility for their lives and careers. You demonstrate your commitment to creating the successful life and career you want and deserve by being willing to do the things necessary to succeed. You also have to set high goals -- and then do whatever it takes to achieve them. Finally, stuff happens; as you go through life you will encounter many problems and setbacks. You need to react positively to the negative stuff and negative people in your life and move forward toward your goals. 112 years ago Elbert Hubbard published an essay called "A Message to Garcia." I find it to be a great commentary on the importance of committing to taking personal responsibility for your life and career.
