For some of you this statement could be controversial so let me clarify. When you live your life with integrity - i.e., you have good personal ethics and you have developed a reputation of trust - then having male friends will not be seen as a threat to your existing relationship with your man.
Having friends of the opposite sex is important in many ways. In my seminars, when I talk on the topics of Leadership, Coaching, Team Building, Parenting, and Communication, I recognize the fact that men and women do all those things equally, but differently.
I take care that every seminar contains what men need to hear and what women need to hear...and they're different!

| Business ethics are an almost daily topic in the news, in business schools, in the workplace and in our homes. I pay close attention to business ethics and what is written about them in my daily life as a strategic thinking, planning and business coach. I am still astounded at the remarks of major corporations a few years ago when they said they “waived or suspended” the ethics code or requirements. I am still at a total loss at how anyone can “suspend or waive” ethics.
While I may not be able to explain the suspension or waiving of ethics, I do hope to provide some solid advice on what business and other organizations need to do today to present, preserve and promote ethics in their organizations. Here are action items I would recommend:

| In the last few years, business ethics and company core values are among the most critical discussions I facilitate during strategic planning and business coaching endeavors. This is partly due to he tremendous negative reaction to corporate ethics scandals. My encouragement to clients is to go “public” with their core values and ethical standards so it becomes known what the company stands for and how the leaders will conduct business.
So, you may ask how would a business go about establishing and emphasizing a set of core values and ethical standards? Based upon my personal and professional experiences and research, I would recommend making the following nine commitments:

| Business coaching remains a rapidly growing profession and one of the impacts of this rapid growth is more scrutiny of the profession. There have been some predictions that business coaching and other forms of coaching will experience increased criticism. This criticism may come in many different forms and today’s professional business coach needs to be able to recognize the criticism and the opportunity or opportunities that result from that criticism.
