The bottom line in leadership is that ethics cannot be codified or dictated. Ethical behavior is dependent upon the judgment and decision making by the leader. The best leaders are consistent and deliberate in their decisions when ethical gray is present. They communicate the decision, and more importantly, the reasons for their decision. The ball is very definitely over. A good time was had by all but what a mess to cleanup! This cleanup has been compounded by the errant behaviour of some of the leaders and organizers of the ball: unbounded greed, ethical standards have been eroded, personal values have been overturned, virtues have been diminished to the point of ridicule, morality has been questioned, integrity has been ignored, trust forgotten and the meaning of life seems to have been lost. If you master these three keys, you'll be able to create positive personal impact.

4 Commitments That Can Impact Your Success
Have you ever made a commitment to yourself or someone and for whatever reason, didn’t follow through? There are numerous definitions for the word “commitment.” The most basic definition is an “act of voluntarily taking on and fulfilling obligations”. This is further specified as a “personal” commitment, as opposed to a professional or organizational commitment. The voluntary nature of a personal commitment is what makes it so personal. However, this does not mean that a commitment has to relate only to personal interests, such as human relationships or core beliefs. Any objective can be approached with a personal commitment. Google’s decision to second-guess its relationship with China has raised some interesting questions recently. So far, the controversy appears to be more of a commercial, as opposed to a political dilemma. A private, business-related concern. But whenever the question of morality, of a battle between good (Google) and evil, comes into play in the news, you can be sure that the blogosphere will start freaking out.
