Strengthen your business boundaries
If you want to have more energy and more confidence it pays to have strong boundaries. If you say yes to too many requests from other people you could find yourself feeling harassed and even resentful. Not a good combination for your confidence levels!

Success – what is it and how can you have it?
If you are like most people, success is defined by completing a vast “to do” list day after day after day. Stopping to consider your priorities and values doesn’t even make the list - who has the time? But that chronic busyness take a toll - in diminished health, unsatisfying relationships and just plain unhappiness. So, what can you do?

Focus on Your Talents
Most people are focused on where the opportunities are and then try to fit themselves into that mould, without giving appropriate thought to their own unique talents and abilities. However, that's not always a great idea. Because today's business playing field is slippery, time is a commodity you don't have, the future is unknown, and security is a thing of the past! In this environment it is important to remember to try differently, rather than trying harder!

Pushing the Edge of Life Balance
In this article, we’re going to push the edge of the envelope. I’m going to challenge you all to take hard looks at your lives as they are today – the internal and external factors So let me ask you…do you really feel fulfilled with your current career path? Are you happy? Are your personal and professional lives everything you want them to be? No? Then you need a life plan that clarifies your priorities and creates goals that match your priorities.

Manage Your Daily Traffic
Concentration of power is the ability to focus upon and accomplish the most vital priorities. A priority is an activity to which we assign value. Vital priorities are high payoff and crucial. In business, vital priorities are essential for the existence, continuation, and well-being of the organization. In our personal life they are the priorities that align with our innermost values. How do we manage our "daily traffic"?

The Power of Priorities
Leadership trainer and author, John Maxwell, says, “Thinking ahead and prioritizing responsibilities marks the major differences between a leader and a follower.” Therefore, when it comes to your priorities, 20% of your priorities will give you 80% of your production.

Manage Your Career with a Definite Plan
In this competitive marketplace, do you have a personal and professional development plan for managing your career? When is the last time you assessed and explored your skills, abilities, competencies, interests, priorities and values to assure they are in line with your professional and personal goals and objectives as well as the requirements for success within your field? The economy is on the rise as is the demand for accomplished, results-driven professionals with a proven track record who can add value. Only you can manage your career so having a solid development plan for yourself with specific goals and objectives is the best way to start that process. How do you create a personal and professional development plan?

Self-Discipline: A Balancing Act
Self-discipline is a balancing act. We are a collection of values, motivations, intentions, fears, potential, abilities, quirks, strengths and stories we tell ourselves. How all of this translates into self-discipline depends upon how aligned we are with our goals and how we balance priorities day to day. The balance you strike is reflective of your personal style of self-regulation. Are you happy with the way you balance your life or do you tend to let things slide a long time before you notice things are out of whack? One thing I notice about people who are content with their ability to regulate themselves is that they are aware of their priorities, they are clear about them, they take responsibility for them, they take time to focus on them and they have a way of balancing competing demands on their time.

In Corporate Strategic Planning, Be Ready to Prioritize and Justify
So much has been written about the importance of setting priorities. Whether in time management or corporate strategic planning, the point remains: We must know our priorities and focus on the projects and opportunities that represent our highest priorities. The saying, “Do your best and forget the rest” is applicable in more than one way. Focus your resources and energy on your best opportunities and set the others aside. The question is: How do you determine your priorities? And in the face of competing corporate agendas, how do you justify your choices? Both prioritization and justification are important steps in an effective corporate planning process.

How To Focus On Your ‘Right’ Priorities
The word ‘right’ for me means right-brain, which translates to intuitively honoring the optimal choice or investment of time and energy. The right priorities are not always the obvious priorities.

Get Your Priorities Straight!
Lately, I have been amazed at the answers I get when I query executives about their priorities. Many utter a reference to "objectives" that sounds good, but soon they discover that their answers do not clarify what their priorities are that day. They often are not clear on what actions they need to focus on today that will lead to success tomorrow.

Clarifying Our Core Values
A key element of "knowing thyself" is sorting out what's really important to you. Without a clear sense of our personal principles and priorities, it's almost impossible to bring the picture of our preferred future or vision sharply into focus. Investing time and effort to uncover and articulate our personal principles has many important benefits.

Are You Drunk with Possibilities?
Every company I have worked with has developed their own methods for determining priorities. The problem is that most are not disciplined enough to limit their number of priorities. "Too many" generally equals "not accomplished."
