Hiring Ineffective Salespeople Costs Real Estate Industry Millions
If ever there was an industry that lives or dies by the performance of it’s salespeople, it is real estate. But real estate sales, like insurance sales, suffers from a cripplingly high failure rate when hiring new salespeople, and the reason is that these industries employ highly ineffective processes for identifying and hiring fresh sales talent. In most real estate companies the 80/20 rule (or something akin to it) applies. For example in one major national agency 15% of agents deliver 78% of revenues. What this means is that hiring effective agents is a purely random event - No more effective than tossing a coin.

Do You Feel Like A Square Peg In A Round Hole
Knowing how and where people work best can be a powerful and lucrative tool for business owners with a team of people. Personality profiling is not a new tool by any means, but still one of the best ways to ensure you are able to achieve a close-to-perfect match when selecting new employees and repositioning existing personnel.

Personality
My dictionary tells me that personality is the "personal or individual quality that makes one person be different and act differently from another." Personality is "the total physical, intellectual and emotional structure of an individual, including abilities, interests and attitudes." Personality is the sum total of all of our qualities. With this in mind, let's explore the benefits and ramifications of a pleasing personality.

How To Choose an Assessment Test
There are literally hundreds of tests available that an employer may use. Excluding the specific skills tests and honesty/integrity tests, most employers that use testing want to know about an individual’s mental abilities and personality traits. And, they want to know how a person’s scores compare to the requirements of the job.

The Difference Between Those That Do And Those That…
Your personality is the result of years or shaping and molding from the time you were born until the present. Some of you may have what is referred to as a “strong” personality. Learn how to develop a strong, indomitable spirit and accomplish more in life, happiness and more.

Personality Not Included by Rohit Bhargava
Does your business need a "personality"? Should you take a look at your business to evaluate ways to develop a positive personality? Is your business good enough? The answers are yes, yes and no. Even if you feel your business is good enough - there are always ways to improve. Developing an effective personality is a great way to set yourself apart from your competition. This book explains why your business needs a personality, how to develop it and what techniques are the best for you.

Trouble with Personality Tests
Personality tests are commonly used for hiring in organisations. Personality tests attempt to measure a broad range of basic traits, such as the Big Five Personality traits or Emotional Intelligence. Although these may provide useful information on how to describe a person, research has repeatedly shown that they do little to predict how well a person will perform in a given job. Academic researchers are re-emphasizing what Chally reported over 30 years ago -personality tests are simply too broad to predict on-the-job performance. Chally, on behalf of the US Justice Department, found it necessary to research solutions well beyond the accuracy of this type of assessment; to identify and measure very precise, job-specific competencies, behaviours, and skills that have been scientifically shown to predict on-the-job sucess.

Personality Assessments - They Still Don't Get it
On the heels of these three articles: * Personality Assessments for Sales - The Definitive Case Study * Exposed - Personality Tests Disguised as Sales Assessments * Sales Assessments vs. Personality Assessments Episode III - The PHD's Strike Back I got the following email forwarded to me. As you read it, just look at the descriptors that the client is referencing in the personality assessments - they are not sales descriptors so, in essence, we have another examples of an assessment that claims to be measuring one thing but is actually measuring another:

Using Pre-Employment Tests Can Save You Money
Pre-employment testing is a way of determining the degree to which a candidate possesses and can demonstrate the knowledge skills and abilities required to successfully perform in the position. Any tests that are used must me job related and valid and comply with the “Uniform Guidelines on Employment Selection Procedures” issued by the EEOC. Some of the most commonly used types of pre-employment tests are...

Using Employment Tests
On today’s market, there are hundreds of extremely well-developed employment tests. However, many widely distributed and highly marketed tests do not meet generally accepted standards for test development and validation. Organizations considering the use of employment tests should carefully consider how the test was developed, the extent to which a test yields stable and consistent results, the relationship between test scores and sales success, and the non-discriminatory nature of the test.
