When Puck was asked once by a reporter what the best part of his job was, he replied, “The opportunity to work in the kitchen every day.”

Lesson #2: Don’t Dream About Being Good, Dream About Being the Best!
When he was a young boy, struggling with the loss of his father and the difficulties of life in an orphanage, Monaghan spent his time reading biographies of great men who had come before him. Abraham Lincoln, a poor farm boy from Illinois, had used hard work and determination to become the President of the United States. Why couldn’t he do the same, Monaghan wondered? Or in reading Sears catalogues, Monaghan would dream about what it would be like to have a life where he could actually afford everything within its glorious pages.

The Little Submarine That Could: DeLuca Takes Subway to the Top
In less than a week, DeLuca had gone from a struggling student earning minimum wage, to a submarine sandwich store owner, all thanks to his friend Pete Buck. “I talked to Pete on Sunday,” recalls DeLuca. “I borrowed my dad’s car on Monday and drove around a little bit and found a vacant store.” The next Saturday, DeLuca returned to the store with Buck and rented it. He never signed a lease, but it was all his.

A Guide to Franchising Abroad
Since there are a variety of cultures, customs, and societies around the world, it can be difficult to grow your brand internationally. Nevertheless, a plethora of franchises – such as SUBWAY, Papa John’s and The Zoo Health Club -- have made the transition and effectively developed abroad. While larger companies have more success because of their brand awareness worldwide, smaller companies can also thrive internationally with an innovative concept and strategic plan.

Depression and ADHD
Did you know that one out of four adults with ADHD suffer with depression? This is a higher rate than for the rest of the population. Depression can have a mysterious cloak around it, however, it helps to know that there are two types. “Primary Depression” is hereditary and you can feel depressed without there being a trigger or reason why you are depressed. “Secondary Depression” is the result of a trigger, perhaps because you are struggling with ADHD, repeatedly feeling like a failure despite great efforts to live up to society’s standards of what is “normal.”

Get Out Of The Branding Business
The success of marketing your restaurant or franchised restaurant can be measured by how many friends you have made in your local community. It's really that simple. It makes little difference if you are a pizza franchisee who is one of 300, or you are Mama's Pizza and an individual operator. You must network your local community to succeed. Period. If you are writing checks for ads, if you are advertising on the local theater movie screen, if you have a radio spot, you are WASTING cash. This is true, even if you own a recognizable, branded franchise location. The only brand you should be concerned with is your own. And the only way to build your own personal brand is to get out of your office chair, or from behind the bar and go into your community.

Five Business Truths to Learn By Heart
There have been times when I wanted to tattoo these truths on people's foreheads, but that probably wasn't my best idea ever.

Little Caesars Franchise Review and Cost
Back in 1959, Marian and Mike Ilitch opened their very first pizza bistro in Garden City, Michigan. Today I'll tell you about a great tool that will help you figure that out.

RELATIONSHIP SELLING PART I (BUYING VERSUS BEING SOLD)
Do not sell products, services or commodities. Just establish strong relationships with clients and achieve the coveted status of a trusted advisor. Then, your clients will elect to buy services and/or products from you. Never try to sell them. I know that this sounds deceptively simple. Almost as if one could just sit around and wait for things to happen. Establishing and maintaining trusted client relationships without trying to sell them anything, requires a lot of patience and a constant struggle against the temptation to start selling.

Baby-U-Deserve-Getting-Every-Thing (Budget)
What is your reaction to the word “budget”? A sinking, depressed, deprived feeling? You are not alone. Many people audibly groan at the mention of the word. For the vast majority, it connotes scarcity, lack, and limitation—none of which are very pleasurable concepts....

What Does Pizza Teach You About Setting up Your Business for Success?
It is my assumption, that where ever you live, you are able to either purchase pizza or prepare your own pizza. In the area known as The New York Metro Area and the area around Boston, people are very loyal to where the ‘best’ pizza is to be found.

The Pizza Pope: The Early Years of Tom Monaghan
When Tom Monaghan was a young boy, he wanted to be three things: a shortstop for the Detroit Tigers, a priest, and an architect; founder of a multi-billion dollar pizza company was not on the list. However, that is exactly what Monaghan would become. Since launching Domino’s Pizza in 1960, Monaghan has grown the company into an empire, with over 8,000 locations in more than 54 countries around the world, and sales that exceed $4.6 billion. Nevertheless, the story of Monaghan’s life was not always as sweet as the success he would later achieve.

Beneath All the Toppings: How Monaghan Grew Domino’s into a Pizza Empire
“If you want to be successful over a long period, you have to have some idea why you were born and what life is about,” says Monaghan. “I don't know how anybody can function without thinking that through.” It may have taken him a while to realize it, but Monaghan certainly came to know what he was meant to do with his life. From dropping out of school and shredding cheese in his one-man pizza shop in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to exporting his recipe for success to over 8,000 Domino’s locations around the world, Monaghan pioneered his way – and his pizza – to the top. Hottest Food Franchise Business Opportunities: Pizza
Nearly everyone loves pizza, even if they can't seem to agree on toppings, so it might not surprise you to find out how lucrative the pizza business can be. Here's a quick look at some of the best Pizza franchises and what it takes to get each of them going.

Choosing A Business Thats Right For You
Many successful businesses have been built by taking a traditional business and making it better. Amazon.com was not the first company to sell books, but they were one of the first that would let you buy books from the comfort of your own home while sitting in your underwear

Find marketing partners
A marketing partner is another business which can complement your business or help to refer new customers your way in exchange for reciprocal referrals. A good example of this is if you leave some of your leaflets in the sales area of a fellow business, preferable in the same town or area as your business and in exchange you have their leaflets in your reception area. To take this concept a little further you could introduce promotional schemes; for example...you could put on your sales literature "When you buy a pizza you get 20% discount off of XYZ video store". At the same time as you offering this you can get XYZ video store to offer a similar promotion so that when a customer rents a video they will get 20% off pizzas at ABC pizza store.
