What Is Success?
Very frequently I'm asked to give my definition of success. Here is one of my responses: I believe success is getting a reasonable number of the things money will buy and all of the things that money won't buy. (People who say they're not interested in money will lie about other things, too!)

Why Selling Is Like Racquetball
I finally got back into my favorite sport – Racquetball. It’s been nearly four years since I played. When we moved from New Jersey to Las Vegas, there were no clubs nearby for me to join. But they finally opened a brand new health club not far from my home. So I joined and am back to playing my favorite sport 3 times a week. I really didn’t realize how much I missed it till I started playing again. I guess after being away from it for a while gave me a new perspective once I resumed playing again because I was suddenly aware of several interesting analogies between this fast-paced sport and selling. Yes, you heard me. I can see several similarities between playing Racquetball and Selling!

Always Have a Winning Hand!
Think about a deck of cards when it comes to networking. Using the analogy of a full deck it is easy to recognize that there are plenty of ways to win. Effective networking is much easier when you play by a recognized set of rules. One of the most important rules of any game is that you have to use a little strategy. You don’t just show up, and expect to win. You need to think about the kind of cards you have to play, and what you really want to accomplish at the event. As a networking expert, I know the value of playing my cards in sequence. I also know that sometimes I have to play off, in order to stay in the game. Winning often isn’t about the cards I hold in my hand, rather how they fit with the cards others hold.

Breaking the Rules
Rules are part of life, from an early age onwards our lives are shaped by rules at home, at nursery, at school and eventually at work. There are rules in our society, rules of the road, social etiquette and so on. Importantly there is also another kind of rule that effects our lives and these are the ones we create ourselves which can therefore be considered as self-imposed.

The Best News
There are many different attitudes. Roberto de Vincenzo, a golfer from Argentina, beautifully displayed one of the best ones many years ago when he won the Masters Golf Tournament but was denied the coveted green jacket. I say he won it because he had the lowest score at the end of four days. But his playing partner who kept the score had inadvertently written that he had made a five on one of the holes when in reality he had made a four. De Vincenzo signed the card, and when an incorrect card is signed, the player is disqualified. He had not cheated, but the rules stood. What was his reaction when he learned he was disqualified? Did he blame his playing partner? No, he said he made a stupid mistake. He accepted full responsibility himself. Now what kind of man is he?

The Uniform Franchise Offering Circular
Just How Important is the UFOC? I started playing golf about 10 years ago and over time have come to love the game. Although technique is a large part of what drives many golfers back to the greens, golf also has a very specific set of rules that define the game and create an equal playing field. The rules spell out how to play, how to keep score and how to determine a winner.

10 Steps for Your Sales Force to Survive and Thrive in the Recession
I was in the pool, playing catch with our six-year old son, when Henry began a "dialog" with me. He said, "You can't play catch in the pool. It's against the rules." I was stunned, but apologized, said I wasn't aware of that rule and removed the football from the pool. There was another guy in the pool and he mentioned to me that the pool rules did not include an exclusion about playing catch. I mentioned that to Henry and he became irate because he owns one of the resort's units, wrote the rules himself, and said, "It better be on that sign!" So what's wrong with this picture?

Double your failure rate if you want success in business
The mistakes we make are not as important as the lessons we learn from them Recently I re read one of my favourite little books in my library. "If life is a game, these are the rules" by Cherie Carter Scott. Her ten rules for playing the game of life are as follows; 1. You will receive a body 2. You will be presented with lessons 3. There are no mistakes, only lessons 4. A lesson is repeated until learned 5. Learning does not end 6. There is no better than here 7. Others are only mirrors of you 8. What you make of life is up to you 9. All answers lie inside of you 10. You will forget all of this at birth THE RUSSIAN SUCCESS FORMULA. C - C - C - P I would like to share with you a formula for success in all areas of life.
