Lesson #1: Find Inspiration in your Outside Interests
Tajiri never liked going to school. His father wanted him to study to become an electrician, but that was the farthest thing from Tajiri’s mind. Instead, Tajiri split all of his spare time between two activities: first, was roaming the forests and fields near his family’s home in his quest for insects.

Lesson #2: Be Able to Say “I did it My Way”
No matter where young Tajiri went as a boy, it seemed he never quite fit in. He collected insects when most of his friends were cramming for college. He spent his money playing video games when most of the other kids were saving up. And, he always remained just a little bit to himself.

The Power of Pokemon: How Tajiri Took the Bugs Out of Success
According to some reports, Tajiri has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a disease that shows itself in the form of social awkwardness and public clumsiness, among other things. Despite this, he has managed to become one of the most beloved and successful video game designers in history. How did he do it?

Addiction to Video Games
In recent years, video game playing has become a major addiction that people use to avoid responsibility for their feelings.

The Game, and How You Play It!
Since playing “the game” I have used it as a brainstorming tool. When my wife and I began selling business training products in 2001, I was overjoyed to find a three-ring binder, Pen and Paper Games For Training, which contains forty different games and activities that can be used for business training, or as the binder suggests, “Putting the Fun into Learning.” The very first activity listed is “A to Z.” It’s “the game!” The description says, “This is a fun and interesting way to brainstorm by finding words starting with every letter of the alphabet. It can be used to explore definitions and ideas.”

The Dawn of Pokemon: Tajiri Launches His Game
Tajiri was no stranger to video games. In the early 1980s, he had won a contest sponsored by Sega that involved making a video game. With his “Game Freak” colleagues, Tajiri had also created his first video game, Quinty, which was published by Namco. But in 1991, Tajiri discovered something that he thought was revolutionary: the Game Boy. When he saw two boys playing a game together, connecting their Game Boys by a link cable, Tajiri immediately began to think of the possibilities. “I saw Game Boy when it was first released,” says Tajiri. “The idea for Pokémon clicked in my mind. The basic idea for Pokemon seemed a good fit for Game Boy.”

The Guy Who Stands Still Gets Killed First.
I have a nephew who just turned 12. He’s a smart young guy, and he taught me a valuable lesson a few months back. Like many 12 year-old boys, he’s a video game hound. He owns the very best that Sony has to offer. I used to be a video game hound too, going back to my first Atari in 1980. When it comes to video games, much has changed in the past 27 years, with super fast-paced action, vibrant graphics, thundering sound, and a much more complex controller to make it all happen.

The "Video Role Playing Is Counterproductive" Myth
Many sales managers and trainers feel that video role playing sales presentations and prospecting methods is just too stressful for their sales representatives to be an effective training tool. On the other hand, in most sports, video taping of an athletes performance is a standard training procedure. Today, video tapes play a major role in an athlete's conditioning by most coaches and managers.

After 150+ Years, 3D Is About Ready to Come Home
Go to a content conference, convention -- heck any conference, any convention. What's the leading subject of conversation? OMG 3D movies are fantastic. 3D video games are so real. Did you hear what Sir Howard said the other day? Yep we're all going to have 3D TV by the end of next year...all of us!!! Gee and we're still paying for our big screen HD TV sets (all of them!). DreamWorks Katzenberg, Sony, Panasonic and "them" are hellbent to make certain you get the economy moving in the right direction. Don't get us wrong. This round of 3D movies are much better than the stuff of the 50s. Notice most of them are animated films? Easier to turn 2D into 2.5 or 3D movies. Games? Kids love em.

Lesson #3: “If you don’t have a lot of passion for it, you’re not gonna make it”
“I have probably the best personal collection of games you’re going to find anywhere,” admits Hawkins. “I’ve just been a nut for almost any form of software, but games especially whether it’s card games, board games, computer games, video games, I’ve just got a spectacular collection. And of course now I have four kids that are at different ages, so when we want to play, boy, we’ve just got a fantastic set of choices.”

Future of Online Games
Online Games are games played over some form of computer network. Online games range from simple text based games to games incorporating complex graphics and virtual worlds populated by many players simultaneously.

Bedtime it’s All About Winning – Really!
Now we like video games as well as most folks even though we're terrible at it and have the gaming attention span of a goldfish. But seriously we know what the bed is for (yes that too) but seriously ...play videogames? We admit that our ancient Atari 2600 was a little clunky to lug from the living room to the bedroom (and the big tube TV set) and it's nothing to grab our smartphone and iPad to dash into the bedroom and play an hour of Angry Birds with the wife. Sorry just don't see the point. Maybe we skipped that lecture in our family harmony class but playing video games in bed doesn't get our adrenaline going or relax us. Sounds a little...boring!

Phones Are Everywhere, But They Aren't Killing Home Gaming
Go out and play. It had a totally different meaning when we were growing up. Back then it meant get outta the house and figure out what you were going to do by yourself or with your friends. Today it means take your **** phone go outside and play, tired of seeing you playing in your room. And that's great because there are so many free games in the app stores. Yep lots of folks (of all ages) download the freebies and then they add items, add features, upgrade and BAM!!! you suddenly have a lot invested in those games. But it's ok because our son says it beats the dull lectures at school and friends say it gives them something to keep them awake in the staff meetings. Just hope your battery doesn't get too low you may have to listen or even take notes...OMG!!!
