Do you think you have the next New York Times bestseller or Oprah Book Club pick, but don’t know how to write it?
Is there a story you've always wanted to write that you think is the next bestseller? But there's a problem--you aren't sure you have the skill to write it? If you think your story might be Oprah's next book club pick, but you aren't sure how to go about it, here are some things to consider...

Convergence Technology – Theory in ’99, Reality in ‘06
It was the summer of 1999, and I remember first hearing the then popular buzz expression “convergence technology.” What it meant was that the Internet was fast coming of age, that web, TV, radio and print content would all converge into one mass body of communication. The distinctive lines of one format from the other would begin to blur, and all outbound communications, whether in print, online, via radio, TV, outdoor, in-store and the like, would all interrelate and point to one another in some meaningful way.

Four Steps to Ensure Accuracy in Your Written Communications
Think of written materials like a shop window—the transparency a well-put-together document affords a company is most likely the best advertisement they can get. However, any mistakes that are not caught and get into print or published online reflect badly on not only the writer, but on the entire organization or publication as well. When a document has inaccuracies, readers tend to distrust everything, including the statistics, opinions, and facts.

Lesson #1: Create a Brand that Can Be Loved, Honoured, and Obeyed
When Wang first opened up shop on Madison Avenue in New York, she was not just selling wedding dresses; what Wang was selling was service. Her goal was to help the women “that are running around looking for special dresses, looking to have everything taken care of because they have busy lives.” To that end, Wang’s shop also helped brides with their jewelry, shoes, hairdos, and more. “I’m creating an image, a brand and a name,” she says.

With a Lease The Devil Is In The Details
This week we'll discuss the most important aspect of the process: signing a commercial lease (insert dramatic music here). One of the biggest mistakes many entrepreneurs make when leasing commercial space is not reading the lease. Forget reading the fine print. When it comes to a lease its ALL fine print

What Do You Expect From Your Coffee Shop?
You can walk down any high street and almost every tenth shop is some sort of eating place or coffee shop. They spring up here there and everywhere, don’t they? And the good ones are always busy.

Attention and Distraction
The idea of whether the Internet is making us more intelligent or less intelligent, more vulnerable to distraction or more capable of skillful multi-tasking, seems to have obsessed the majority of print and online media journalists lately. No doubt these journalists are concerned with the fate of their jobs, as print media dwindles and people become increasingly less likely to pay for reporting that often costs thousands of dollars to accomplish. Out of this so-called “crisis of attention” has emerged a new genre of writing, a kind of meta-reporting in which journalists, distracted by the swarm of new media overtaking print, are focusing their attention on new neurological research and technological advancements to try and figure out where the future of their own profession, and indeed the entire globalized world, is headed.

How is blogging good for a business?
There’s a shop, which has opened recently, very near to where I live. I pass it every day during my walks and not once have I seen a customer in there. Not once! The shop in question is a clothes hire shop. You can hire ball-gowns, dinner suits, kilts, wedding dresses…that sort of thing. I think they are in the wrong location but they need to start marketing and I think blogging would be a great way to start. They have a website. The domain name is underneath the shop front logo.

Make it easy for your customers to buy!
If you want your customers to spend with you why not make it easy? This may seem obvious to you, but it is not always obvious to most business owners and I would like to get you thinking a bit here. Let me explain by example... I have just got back from a break myself and the guy that owned the apartments also owned the small supermarket down the road. The apartments were self catering so it would be good for the owner if the people staying there were to cook food and purchased from his shop. When we arrived he took time to mention his shop so that we would visit, which we duly did and I am sure you are waiting for the but here...and there is and not just one the way I see it.

Art, inspiration and printing
Printing is so much fun. I love it. I also love to see the wonderful artwork that we print to. All those fabulous colours and textures really do bring the canvas to life. It’s so important that you have the right image to print from, it helps to get a second opinion to because it’s not just you that will be viewing the canvas print day in and day out, you will be sharing the moment with others around you to.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Self Publishing
Gone are the days when you needed either a book deal or a large sum of money to publish a book. Self-publishing is no longer seen as just "vanity publishing"; it's a legitimate professional way to get your ideas into print. And now, with the Kindle and iPad making e-books mainstream, you don't even need it in print! But that doesn't mean it's all plain sailing. Traditional publishing does have some advantages, so if you do decide to take the self-publishing route, make sure you get those benefits in other ways.
