Always on (everybody markets)
I walked past a private dinner being given at a restaurant in New York last night. Perhaps forty people, listening to an after-dinner speaker.

Dinner at Ron's
I recently had the pleasure of participating in a dinner at Ron and Miri Gutman's home in San Francisco. Ron is the Founder & CEO of Wellsphere, and he and Miri were the perfect hosts. I had a BLAST cutting wood before the dinner. I went for a great run and came back to find a stack of wood, which Ron caught me chopping. It felt like when I was a kid and dad and I used to do it back home.

Time is the New Currency
In today's frantic world of double income parents and internet/cell phone access that keeps us within easy reach, it seems that work is competing for more and more of our time. We take business calls during our child's bedtime story, carry our laptops along with us on vacation, and learn to multi-task dinner prep with client projects. But despite this perceived "efficiency," we must ask ourselves: is our productivity really increasing? Or are we just busying ourselves, running from here to there, juggling too many priorities and compromising our standards as we do so? Through all the rushing and ticking off of items on our never ending to-do list, we can't help but sense that the boundaries between work and private life are all but evaporating.

Unleashing entrepreneurship: Making business work for the poor
There has been a big change in the United Nations's engagement with the private sector influenced by its stewardship of the Millennium Development Goals. It was the urgent need to enhance the contribution of the private sector in achieving the MDGs that prompted Secretary General Kofi Annan to appoint a commission to examine how the role of the private sector in this major global effort could be maximized.

REVIVE AN ECONOMY… THE ANSWER LIES WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR
The best road to economic recovery strengthens and grows private business. The private sector, guided by the discipline of the market system, will always be the most efficient way to create the right number of productive jobs providing the products and services the economy demands.

Non-Real Estate Loans Private Lenders
Non-real estate loans from private lenders is not as hard of a proposition as one might think. But are they worth the high interest rate? Typically a private loan made for non-real estate purposes will cost you more in the short term than a traditional loan. The advantages of a private loan for non-real estate deals is that they often take less time to approve and the terms are generally more flexible. By nature private lenders take on a lot of risk, but don't be fooled into thinking that they do so unknowingly or without reservation. Assurances, a good track record and often some equity will be needed to get one of these "quickie" loans.

You Have the Right to...Ask for Help!
You Have the Right to...Ask for Help! In my seminars I often tease that some women believe they were born with a tattoo that says, "I can do it all"...or "I must do it all." I then ask for someone to show me that tattoo. Although we all laugh, it's not a laughing matter. The sad fact is that 67 percent of working mothers in America come home and make dinner all by themselves. Worse yet, 72 percent of them clean up after dinner, again all by themselves. Let's look at the younger generation. My children have known since they were small that there's no such thing as the "Kitchen Fairy." Food doesn't magically

Monthly Dinner With My Brother
Last night I had dinner with my brother Daniel, one of the partners at Slice of Lime, a Boulder-based web design and development firm. He and I were at TechStars at the end of the day where I gave a talk on “How To Be A CEO.” Afterwards, we had a nice dinner together at The Cheesecake Factory (his choice – I don’t think I’d been there in a decade – and it was surprisingly good), a great talk, and dynamite brother hang out time.
