Totally connected ...but are we in touch?
Technology is capable of fulfilling each of our whims. We can stay connected anywhere, in real-time. But what price do we pay for this privilege? Is it a privilege at all? Are you compelled to keep up with the masses or are you making your own choices?

What's Leadership?
It is a natural instinct to want to be a leader yet so many people have no idea what is required to be one. As they climb the ladder of success they feel they are leaders and have the demeanor requiring being followed without earning it. Rank has it’s privilege but not in the hearts of men and so conformity is through duty.

Lesson #5: Invest Your Best Capital in Your Customers
“Politeness and civility are the best capital ever invested in business,” said Barnum. “Large stores, gilt signs, flaming advertisements, will all prove unavailing if you or your employees treat your patrons abruptly.” In growing the most successful circus in the U.S., Barnum came to learn that it was not enough just to get the sale. Instead, what was important was making sure that customer would come back time and time again. Barnum was a master promoter, but he knew there was no advertising as valuable as word of mouth recommendations.

Do It Yourself: Kamprad’s Guide To Success
“What else could I do at my age?” Kamprad asks. “Grow tomatoes in an allotment behind the house? I don’t know how to do anything apart from sell furniture. I am your classic, specialized idiot.” From one of the most remote, poverty-stricken corners of Sweden to becoming one of the world’s richest men, Kamprad broke the rules of retail when he created IKEA. And, it worked. Just how did Kamprad do it?

Mobile TV\'s Messed-Up Marketing
For reasons unbeknownst to me (okay, almost certainly hoping I'd say nice things about their phone and service), Sprint bestowed on me a freebie phone some time back, as well as a full-service package of voice, video, and data. I've cheerfully taken advantage of having a second mobile phone -- it comes in useful when in the car on long conference calls and needing to order take-out pizza -- but I have to confess that one aspect of it has surprised me.

What is Brand Equity?
Brand equity is a marketing term used to refer to the marketing impact of a given product in association with a brand name. It tries to examine how a given product will perform in the market if it did not have the privilege of that brand name.

Cost of office fit out
The service providers or retail companies in the office fit out, commercial fit out, relocation, interior design and refurbishment services sectors promote their inspirational services and products in amazing budgets all around the world. Alas, as they likely spend more in promotion, they neglect the real buyers and their unique needs that are limited by their tight budgets as the result of the economical recession in the world.

Don’t take your frustrations out on your customers
Sales and Service roles are not for the faint hearted and can often take their toll on your good nature, your energy and your ability to deal effectively with frustrating issues, especially when you put in the effort to do the ‘right thing' by your customers and it is not appreciated, acknowledged or actioned. At the end of a long day or week dealing with lots of people, pulling together various deals, solving problems and keeping your energy levels up and being on your best behaviour, you could be forgiven for being a bit ‘short' if things don't go according to plan and something falls short of your expectations. To manage our frustrations, sales and service people can resort to all sorts of remedies.

3 Reasons Identity Management is a “MUST”… and strategies to make it affordable
Identity Management for companies with employees that have access to critical data is a MUST. Over the years I have had the privilege to work with many companies large and small, who have different business needs. In many cases I hear all the reasons, (and sometimes excuses) for not implementing a solution, policy or methodology. Sometimes these reasons even make perfect sense! In making any business decision, the choice to do, or not do anything is weighed by what I call the “risk vs. reward scale”. The article gives three basic reasons Identity Management is a MUST

The “Karmically Correct” Way to Lay Off an Employee
For anyone in the unlucky position of having to fire an employee, here is the “karmically correct” way to lay off an employee:

MYTH: Cold calling is a good idea
In the "olden days" when I first started my business, over 95% of my sales came about through cold calling, which I had learnt to do really well when I worked as a sales recruitment specialist with Morgan & Banks. At M&B - and in my business - it was very clear that if I didn't bill anything I didn't earn anything. So I got on the phones and I prospected to people I didn't know - that is, cold calling. This was well and truly before the internet was in mainstream use and I had the privilege of learning how to cold call really well. But it is a FACT that in an essentially crowded market place of the 21st century, businesses require a series of "push" and "pull" prospecting strategies rather than one simplistic "push" approach to selling such as cold calling.

Start small and really network
I have attended my fair share of networking events and more often than not, I find that I do not get any quality time to network and begin the process of building viable business relationships for the future. I find the time allocated to speak with people and start to get to know them is often too short, coupled with too many other distractions. However, I have been on the look-out for other ways to really connect, understand, and collaborate with people who are interested in leveraging collective networks, especially in this current market.

Without spoiling the story, when one of the richest men in the country dies, he leaves all of his relatives money, businesses, or property, with the exception of one young man. He leaves his great-nephew a 12-month odyssey which results in The Ultimate Gift.

Doing Unto Others
By reaching out to others, helping, caring, and giving of yourself freely without any thought of personal gain, you will become a better and much happier person-and your impact will be felt forever. Like the ripple made when you cast a stone into water, the ripple effect you create by helping others is immeasurable. If you don't know how to do this on a large scale, do it on a small one. I know a man who is a full-time truant officer for a small town north of Denver, and also a member of an Optimist Club. As a truant officer, he found that some children failed to attend school because they were trading days with their siblings-there was only one pair of shoes among them.
