Daily Flossing
| |
| Daily Flossing. We all hear it. Twice a year, our dentist and dental hygienists tell us to "floss daily." They tell us it will make a difference. If you're like me, and millions of other Americans, somehow we don't get sufficiently inspired enough to remember to pull out the waxy string each day. Does it really matter? I was on an Open Coaching Forum with my Success and Inner Peace Bootcamp. One of my participants wanted to get inspired to floss his teeth everyday. He knew it was good for him, but wasn't doing it. Fortunately, another Bootcamp participant shared her personal story. It had a profound impact on this participant (and me too), so I'm sharing it with you. |

IKEA is the top home furniture retailer in the world, with over 90,000 employees working in its 200-plus stores, and annual revenues in excess of $10 billion. Indeed, next to the Bible, the annual IKEA catalogue is the most widely distributed publication in the world. From his humble beginnings in the south of Sweden, Kamprad has used his entrepreneurial drive to become the richest man in the world, with a net worth of $28 billion. |

Why ‘everybody lives by selling something’ is key to your success
| |
| ‘Everybody lives by selling something’ seems to have allowed people to discuss an area that is fundamental to human relationships and communication, the principle of exchange. In our lives we are all exchanging things of value. Whether what we exchange is of value to others should be determined through effective communication, open dialogue, and trust.
Taken to an organisation wide level, everybody in a company has an impact on how the business communicates with and engages in the principle of exchange with its customers, suppliers, the broader community, and each other.
The legacy of silos in organisations, where departments distance themselves from each other, pitting their agenda against others to gain an upper hand, is the opposite of the principle ‘everybody lives by selling something’. |

Forming a Successful Sales Team
| |
| Perhaps the greatest change in organizations today is the shift from independence to interdependence, from individual efforts to teaming. Teamwork is having a profound impact on selling. Many companies today leverage the synergy of teams by sending two or three team members to sell an account. This is especially true when accounts represent significant revenue or when the team will be cross-selling various products. If you're thinking about bringing in a selling partner, or if a sales team is about to be formed, consider these ideas when setting up the team:

Tagged

| I remember growing up we use to play a game called "tag". I am sure you remember playing this game with the neighborhood kids. One or more kids would count to 10 and then chase other kids to tag them and they would be what we called "it". The kids who were tagged were the next ones to count, chase, and tag kids. A couple other things I think of when I think about the word "tagged" is when graffiti artist tagged walls with spray paint or when people get tagged with a tatoo somewhere on their body. |

| Have you ever decided to do something that was a little odd, but nonetheless followed through on it; then learned some big lessons? The story that follows is something I did on a whim, just to see if I could do it. I had no idea how profound it would be for me, or the impact it would have on others.
