Making a Difference in People’s Lives: How to Find Your Purpose
Ever wonder why some people have a sense of purpose or reason and you don’t? I wondered this about myself many years ago and then went searching for my purpose. I was working a sales job that just wasn’t doing it for me. The money was okay but at the end of the day when I asked myself “what have I done today?” I couldn’t come up with anything substantial or meaningful. I knew that I wanted to make a difference in the world but I didn’t know how. I wanted my children’s children’s children to know who I was and why I was important.

What Smart Women Learn in the Recovery Room
This article is about discovering what’s holding you back in your life-your “obstacles” to having the life you desire and gives you tips on how to shed those obstacles. It is only when we shed these “obstacles” that we can live a life that is fully on purpose and with passion.

Why Great Workplace Relationships Are So Valuable
Management is the art of getting the very best from your people. It is essentially a people skill that many managers have, yet struggle to make the best of. The workplace relationships you form are most likely the major critical factor in your success...

Your Clarity of Purpose and Success
Defining your personal clarity of purpose is the first step in becoming a personal and professional success. Use your purpose in life to guide your career and life decision making. Once you are clear on what you want from life, it becomes relatively easy to determine what you need to do to get you there. It all begins with clarity -- and only you can determine what success means for you.

Successful People Create Their Dream and Make it a Reality
Develop a clarity of purpose for your career and life. Your clarity of purpose and direction is where it all begins. To develop your personal clarity or purpose you need to do three things. First, define what success means to you. Second, create a vivid mental image of you as a success. Third, clarify your personal values. Once you define what success means to you personally, I suggest that you develop a clear mental picture of you as a success. This image should be as vivid as you can you make it.

Success and Your Personal Mission and Vision
Successful people define a clarity of purpose and direction for their lives and careers. Your clarity of purpose and direction should include both a personal mission (your purpose) and a personal vision (your direction). Your mission is your reason for living, why you are on this earth. It is unlikely to change over the long run. Your vision is a short or medium term goal that defines the direction you will take over the next three to five years. It will change are you grow and develop in your life and career. Your vision must be consistent with your mission.

Money & the Meaning of Life (Part 2)
"Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God that which is God's." Jesus - (Matthew 22:21) In part one of this 2 part series, we examined the two worlds in which we live -- the physical/material world where money is king, and the metaphysical/spiritual world where Divine Spirit rules. Today, let's explore how we might bring these two worlds together in a way, through challenging, can lead us to an inspiring life on purpose.

Moving Forward After Organizational Restructuring
Since the early 1980s, a wave of reorganization has emerged. The plight of displaced employees has received great attention, as evidenced by the many programs for helping them retrain, relocate, increase their employability and regain their emotional stability. Relief comes to an organization after restructuring when everyone assumes that the worst has passed. However, the readjustment process for the remaining employees may become a shocking experience for the organization.

WHAT IS YOUR LIFES PURPOSE
You climb out of bed every morning; take a shower, brush your teeth, get dressed, have some coffee, toast or cereal, pat the dog, hug the kids, kiss the wife (husband), not necessarily in that order and head out the door to where and to what? No it is not a destination that I am talking about, it is a PURPOSE. Does your life have one?

Four Ways to Fuel Your Passion
If you want to take that quantum leap towards achieving your goals, a great way to do so is to fuel your passion. Passion is what separates champions from the rest of the field, and can keep you going for the long term. Passion is what drives you to get you closer to your goals. If you’re about to undertake a major goal, make sure you follow these four things that will help fuel your passion.

Leading-edge entrepreneurial trends you should know about
You have created your vision board and now that you have visualized, you want to realize that “larger” life? Is this you? To upgrade your life, from point A to point Z (not just B), you need to be aware of these 3 leading-edge entrepreneurial trends.

Are you wanting to change or preserve your reality? (Part 3 of 3)
Part 1 of this introductory article highlighted whether stretching, aka personal grow, is for you and whether you are open to using it to grow your business and improve your lifestyle. Part 2 covered how to stretch to your desired reality in a conscious and supported way. Part 3 shows you what attitudes and actions are required before you can replace inch-by-inch changes with exponential progress.

Do What You Love to Do! An introduction to finding your life's purpose
Everyone wants to be successful. However, there are many people who say they don't know what their life's purpose is. The answer to this question is right inside of you!

STRUGGLING TOWARD A CONSTANCY TO PURPOSE
One of the unfortunate realities of our time is the tendency we have of allowing other persons and society define the meaning of success in our lives. In doing so we absolve ourselves from any meaningful internal dialogue and true understanding of who we are and why we were meant to be here or our purpose/mission in life. Those who regularly read my bulletins know that I have some pretty strong opinions about how we all should live our lives. This statement seems contradictory to my opening remarks but stay with me and I will explain. I thought it would be interesting for us to examine how four different generations might view success based upon what we have come to know about them and what they value. Perhaps from this cursory examination we might get some ideas for what truly constitutes SUCCESS?

Law of Correspondence
It's about getting clear on your purpose, mission and goals and how you think about these things. Do you think positively about success or money? Or is all your self-talk about the obstacles, fears and doubts that will sabotage your future? What you think about, you bring about.

Beyond Your Tasks
Ever hear the story of the two masons working side by side at a building site? They're doing the same work under pretty much the same conditions. One day a stranger comes along, approaches one of the men and asks, "What are you doing?"

How to Embrace Passion, Power and Purpose in Your Life
It is sad to see people go through life without recognizing what brings passion to their life - the result is spending what could otherwise have been a full, rich life on things that truly don’t matter. It is important that we allow ourselves the time to think, meditate, pray, and seek direction for what we are to do that will put the passion, power and purpose in our lives.

Career Coaching Case Study: Client Creates Work With Purpose and Passion
We are all trying to understand and cope with the enormous changes in our work and personal lives. Mostly we react in a positive and productive manner. Secrets of Successful Careers - Discover Your Purpose & Strengths
Why are some people promoted to positions that bring out the best in them, while their peers, who are equally talented, get left behind in positions that do not allow them to flourish? Are there secrets to a rewarding and satisfying career in the corporate world? According to Gallup research, only twenty percent of people are working in jobs that provide them the opportunity to excel in what they do best. Since we spend so many of our waking hours working, shouldn't we try to make that time rewarding and fulfilling? Unfortunately, many of us feel trapped in mediocre careers and place the blame on poor company leadership and lack of opportunities. In these situations, daily work becomes a grind when we cannot apply our strengths into our work.

Persistence, Purpose and Passion
Think about the business owners you admire or the mentors you listen to. They’ve told you story after story of what they did to be successful. Those common threads are key lessons you must apply to your solo business to assure your success and prosperity too.

PRECISION-Guided Leadership
How to Move Your Team With Purpose…On Purpose.

SUNRISES AND SUNSETS
Let me start by wishing you all a very Happy New Year. One of my fondest memories of summers at the lake was sitting on the deck at the cottage (preferably screened in) either early in the morning with a hot cup of coffee and a blanket wrapped around me watching the sun come up or late in the evening sitting with a drink and in the old days an occasional cigar, quietly watching the sun go down on another day. It was always at these times I would reflect back over days past and wonder about days to come and where my life would take me and my family.

Coming From Love
What is your real purpose in life? You were put on this earth through an act of love, you were loved and nurtured and you grew into adulthood. You may find yourself looking around you and asking “Ok world, I am here, now what?” The key to a fulfilling life is attuning to who you truly are.

What is holding you back?
Do you remember the grand dreams you had as a child? Whatever happened to your ambitions to be the next great doctor, teacher, or entrepreneur? Weren’t you making plans to write the next great novel, record the next big hit or make an important scientific breakthrough? Many of us still harbor those dreams but have succumbed to the many barriers standing in our way.

Keeping up with the Joneses
As you may know, when I am not pursuing my passion of speaking, writing books, and developing these columns each week, I am in the television business. It is important for you to understand how the media and big business views you. You, by virtue of the fact that you are breathing, are lovingly known as "a consumer." Consumers, in the minds of media and big business, exist for the sole and singular purpose of buying goods and services. Whether you buy the appropriate goods and services is not nearly as important-in their minds-as how much and how often you buy.

I Need You For a Mission!
What is your Mission in life? Yes, it's a heavy question but one worth asking yourself. Have you spent time thinking about what gifts you possess and how to utilize those gifts to the best of your ability?

Decisions, Decisions
Do you ever wonder why decisions you make foster reactions that you never dreamed of? In a Hay Group research brief entitled "Executive Blind Spots," the results of a large survey concluded that the higher executives rose within an organization; • The more they over-rated themselves compared to how they were rated by others, and; • The wider the gap between how they saw themselves and how their peers, subordinates, and managers viewed them. Individual contributors and lower level managers, in contrast, showed no significant gaps between how they and others rated them.

The Coaching Fallacy What it is and what it isnt
There is much confusion about what Coaching is- and isn’t. Many consulting firms have simply gone through their marketing materials and changed the word “consulting” to “coaching.” For many in the business world, that sums up what they perceive Coaching to be, a new word for consulting. Nothing could be farther from the truth!

Do Everything On Purpose
Talk seems to be plentiful about "getting real" and "keeping it real" these says. But what exactly does that mean? One of the definitions of the word real is "being or occurring in fact or actuality; not imaginary or ideal." So basically, the talk is about dealing with what actually exists and not putting a happy spin on things. While it is definitely a good idea to know what is going on around you, being real is not the complete solution. Striving for your ideal, your passion, and your purpose -- is.

Seen Your Idea Lately?
If you don't act on your ideas, someone else will.

How Old Would You Be If You Didn't Know How Old You Were?
This article is not so much written for the younger crowd let’s say up to about 30 years of age who generally do not often think about “father time.” As life events ‘typically’ unfold they have most of their lives still out in front of them, very little of their lives belongs in the past, therefore they really have not accumulated anywhere close to a “fine cargo of life experiences” nor are they likely to feel any particular sense of urgency around age because they see having all the time in the world. So, that leaves the rest of us to try and answer the question; how old would you be if you didn’t know how old you were? I mean if you didn’t have any idea of your actual age in years, what would guide you to an answer?

Never Frown on the Small Business
A new business startup can be a hairy and hoary proposition. There are many indicators to consider, and there are countless variables that can jeopardize any creative attempts. You may have heard about painful and disappointing closures of businesses that began with an optimistic premise. Animated conversations revolved about supporting a cause, a purpose – altruism and philanthropy as part of the company’s philosophy for business – however faded into obscurity and oblivion.

WHAT DRIVES YOUR BUSINESS AND YOUR LIFE?
I hear from so many women entrepreneurs who are frustrated and dissatisfied with where their lives (and their business) are going. From past experience, I know that this stems from the fact they are not clear on their life purpose.

What Inspired Michael Dell to Sell Computers Directly to End Customers?

So what inspired Michael Dell to stick on his thinking and not to sell PC's indirectly to customers ?

Why Do You Work? (apart from the money)
Your reasons for working tell you much about what drives you as a person. These reasons go much deeper than the need to make money to pay the bills. They don’t just drive your work, they drive your life. They get you out of bed each morning with the feeling you have a purpose in life and a contribution to make, irrespective of any payment you might receive. The article includes a short exercise to help you find your own answers. These answers are vital for sustaining your daily energy, resilience and enthusiasm to ensure you keep enjoying living life to the last drop!.

The Power of Purpose
Do you know the purpose of your business? Do you clearly understand why you started your business? Have you communicated this purpose to all those who work with you? Have you documented the purpose? If the answers to any of these is ‘no’ then you are probably finding it difficult to stay on course as you are bombarded by the day to day surprises lurking in your future. The solution lies in the Power of Purpose, which states that when a business owner clearly knows and deeply believes in the purpose of her business she will achieve great success because she has a strong beacon to guide every action and decision.

Motivating People: Why it doesn't work
When a business has a clearly defined purpose it begins to act as a magnet, attracting the kind of people who will further the purpose; people who are like-minded. Not only will having a purpose attract the right people, but it will also act to retain them.

Leadership Tip - Who is Leaving You Behind?
When you give in to self-pity and victimization you leave behind your potential. It is abandoning yourself from being all that you can be. Life holds a special purpose for you. Finding it is part of your journey. Once you get on purpose and get on track, you are not being left behind. Your success builds from your special purpose and no one else’s.

What’s Your Compelling Purpose?
All of us are in search of a clear and driving purpose for our lives; we want to contribute to something bigger than ourselves. The world of work offers a great opportunity for people to connect with a purpose. The reality is that people care less about working for a company and much more about working for a compelling cause. Without a purpose, our teams are just putting in time. Their minds might be engaged, but their hearts will not be. A team without a purpose is a team without passion. They might achieve short-term results, but they won’t have the heart to go the distance.

The Universe is Calling - Will You Heed the Call?
"The soul is like a wild animal -- tough, resilient, savvy, self-sufficient, and yet exceedingly shy." Parker J. Palmer from Let Your Life Speak: Listening for the Voice of Vocation In our last issue I made a distinction between one's life purpose and a calling or vocation. As you may recall the Life On Purpose Perspective offers that your life purpose is more about who you are as a spiritual being and what you came here to this life to be and to experience, while a calling or a vocation often has more to do with what you choose or are lead to do as an expression of your purpose. Of course, on one hand anything that you do in life can be enhanced when it's 'poured' into the context of your life purpose. For example, several years ago with Life On Purpose Institute was just getting of

What if I already had a plan?
Discovering what our life's purpose is is a popular concept these days. Could this be because more and more people are awakening to the reason they are here, on Earth, the purpose that is suppose to give our life meaning? Some even say it is destiny, a pre-determined purpose set up to dictate our life's existance. Well what if, rather than it being destiny or a pre-determined purpose created by someone else, it actually is a plan that I, myself, created for my life before I made the journey here. That would mean that I am the one creating my own destiny, my own life's purpose. And my biggest challenge here, on Earth, is to simply remember or re-connect with the plan that I already created for myself. How awesome is that!!!!!

Purpose
Purpose is foundational to human life, to social organization and to business. No one goes into business without a purpose. Thus, the clarification of purpose is the most powerful engine of success known. Purpose is the foundation of all planning.

Sue Grafton is a Success Because She Loves What She Does
Successful people have a clearly defined purpose for their life. Sue Grafton's purpose is writing mystery stories that entertain large numbers of people. My purpose is helping others succeed. My friend's purpose was creating better surgical equipment. What is your purpose? It should be something you love. If you don't love it, you'll get burned out and see your work as a grind. If you love what you do, you see your work as a gift and something to which you look forward every day. As we approach the end of 2009, spend some time thinking about what you truly love doing. Then, and more important, think about how you can make doing what you love your life's work.

Success Comes From Living Your Purpose
To develop your personal clarity or purpose you need to do three things. First, define what success means to you. Second, create a vivid mental image of you as a success. Third, clarify your personal values. Ask yourself a simple question almost every day. "Did the things I did today support my life’s purpose?" If you answer, "yes," consider it a successful day. If you answer "no," think about what you can do the next day to get back to living your purpose. Have a clear and vivid mental image of what success means to you. Live your life’s purpose every day. If you haven’t clarified your purpose in life, this is a good time to start. Once you get clear on your purpose, live it every day in all your actions.

Know Your WHY
The first thing a great leader should do is to determine what their purpose is. This is their ‘why’. The purpose, the guiding reason that the leader has for the business. I believe the best leaders are the ones who are focused on bringing out the best in their people – transforming lives. When someone has that as his purpose, the profits just naturally follow. From that standpoint, the leader can determine their vision for the business, based on their guiding purpose. Here are 6 leadership tips to improve as a leader.
