Prayer and purposeful action
I awoke early this morning to the sound of gentle rain falling and found myself immediately praying for more. This prayer came automatically during one of the most tragic weeks in Victoria’s history with the tragedy of the bush fires in many parts of our state. As a Victorian I have found myself upping my prayer quotient for rain for some time now, not just for the bush fires but for the many people whose lives are affected by the drought here and elsewhere. In addition to my prayers, like many families, my family and I have been doing our best to save water and change the size of our carbon foot print. Yet at times like this one can’t help but feel somewhat helpless and useless. All I felt I could do under the circumstances was to pray and give money.

Building a successful legacy one purposeful act at a time
In this article, Richard Monette expands on his popular article "The Success Formula". He uses the example of the Banff Centre - one of Canada's most well known and successful professional development hubs - 75th anniversary to present a clear recipe to building a successful legacy. Richard highlights the importance of broadening the spectrum of criteria organizations and individuals typically use to measure their success. More specifically, Richard explains how to go beyond the concrete, easily measurable and tangible results and account for the intangible, fleeting outcomes behind those numbers. Richard concludes that defining the fulfillment variable in the Success Formula is not a license to avoid the hard work required to deliver results.

Small Business Tips: Turning Words Into Deeds
Deed is just another name for action. First you need to ensure you have thought and imagined the foundations of your business – getting clear on your products, services and customers. Next you need to have "inked" these thoughts into plans, brochures, web sites and copy. Finally you need to take action. Action is where you put your energy behind your thoughts. There are many sayings around the importance of action "You miss 100% of all shots you fail to take", "You've got to be in it to win it" and "The journey of 1000 miles begins with just one step" are a few of my favourites.

Smart Women Dare To Dream
This article is about how women need to focus on the dream that they really want in life. Not someone else’s dream but their very own passionate, purposeful dream. Many times, we think that a dream is just that: something that is not attainable. If you really want your dreams to come true, you must become intentional and focused on the dream. Visualize and see it happening. Take steps to put a plan into to action to achieve it.

A Call to Action for the Sales Force
Al Gore has become more famous for his call to action against global warming than he ever was as Vice President of the United States. Pope John Paul II was noted for his "stand up for life" call to action. The charities that you support have calls to action that either inspire you or embarass you into giving. Yesterday, Barack Obama included a call to action in his inaugural speech.

Action Plan Example
Action plans are fairly common in business, but probably done wrong as often as not. A lot of people do not understand what an action plan is and often mistake it for a COE or Correction Of Errors, not one of my favorite types of documents. Having a good action plan starts with an understanding of what an action plan is and a great action plan example would be a huge help in this. An action plan is a forward looking document and should be addressed as one. When looking at an action plan example one should take this into account. Action plans prevent business gaffs, keep everyone on task and help smooth out operations. In a way they could be considered a mini business plan, though I tend to look at them as a working business plan.

If You Can’t Solve the Problem, Manage It
Managing a contact sport and therefore requires a good deal of action. If your issue not resolvable in the short term, although important, you still know it to specific tasks so you can build momentum for future resolution needs. Once you've determined what you can do based on the steps listed above, it is time to execute. Some form of action to take today, tomorrow, next week, next month and decide. Action regardless of the effect of constant size and take action and you soon into a very manageable situation unresolvable problem that must change.

Are You Living Today By Default Or Design?
Very successful people are those who think about what matters to them, taking the time to be purposeful, about their actions and vigilant of their emotions. What about you? Are you living today by default or design?

It Takes More Than Marketing to Attract Big Bucks
Marketing is an action. Action doesn’t create a result. It’s all about what is driving the action. You need to be fully into it before, during and after the action for it to create the impact that you want.
