Have you got a heart
| |
| Like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz, we all need a "heart". Not the pump thing that keeps us going, but something more subtle. This heart is the seat of our emotions, of empathy and of love. We need to recognise its existence and to find a balance between our heart and our head. Only with this balance will we find harmony in our lives. |

Knowing Your Products and Services
| |
| Your products or services are the heart and soul of your business; without them, your business cannot exist. Much like the human body, a healthy heart is imperative to a healthy body. As the business owner, you must become in tune with every facet of your business. Let’s apply this to your business:

You Don’t Always Have To Jump
| |
| As I climbed down the rickety metal ladder from the top of the Oribi gorge to the small ledge below, my heart was racing. Sure, I was secured in a study nylon harness, but my knees were shaking so hard I could barely walk. Adrenaline was coursing through my veins at breakneck speed.
From the bottom of the ladder, I walked out to the edge of the cliff and looked over the edge down at the river and rocks 33-stories below. |

Lesson #1: Consistency is Important
| |
| "Consistency is the most important thing in business," Enzo Ferrari once said. Ferrari began racing open wheeled race cars for Alfa Romeo and gained success by being a consistent driver on the local circuit. His success was so consistent that Alfa offered him a spot on the more prestigious racing circuit. He turned them down and for some unknown reason, did not race again for another four years. |

Lesson #2: Pursue Ambitious Goals
| |
| "It is not negotiable," Enzo Ferrari told his employees about advancing the technology of his race cars. Ferrari believed that you had to pursue ambitious goals to be successful in the automotive industry. Even though he only built production cars to support his racing teams, Ferrari still believed that a person had to set high goals for everything they did, whether it be racing cars or designing cars. It did not matter to him if the car was designed to win a race or to be driven on the streets by everyday drivers, he demanded the highest standards from his employees, as well as himself. |
