Choosing the Next Great Tech Product Boom…or Bust
| |
| Holidays are nerve wracking for you, us, everyone. You want to buy just the right...thing. You don't want to spend too much or too little. You want it to be something the recipient will want, will use, will keep, won't go out of style tomorrow. With the speed of change in the industry that's a tough order.
Even worse when you're buying something for your business or yourself. Admit it...look in your store room. Peek in the garage. Yesterday's great solutions, great answers are lying around and you wonder how you could have missed the signs. Our recommendations aren't bulletproof but maybe some of the information will help you think twice and avoid investing in another deadend revolutionary product/solution. But 20+ years in the industry working with industry leaders will give us a huge edge.

Hard Times
| |
| Everyone faces hard times in life. Bad stuff happens to everyone so eventually your number is going to come up. Although we do whatever we can to prevent trouble, some of it is simply the unfolding of our lives.
The challenge for all of us is to accept life’s blows as part of our journey, learn from them, and emerge stronger, wiser, and more capable. The main thing is to avoid unnecessary drama about the hard times that drags you down a path of misery.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall…….
| |
| We all read Snow White as children and we know that in the book, her ugly stepmother asks the mirror the question, “Who is the fairest one of all?”
Was it insecurity that made her ask that question? Was it because she couldn’t believe what she saw, that she needed an outside opinion to feel validated?
Have you ever stopped to think about how many of us have to ask what others see in our mirror?

Appreciation: Looking in the Rearview Mirror
| |
| Appreciation is more than taking a positive attitude about business and about life: it's also about looking back on how far you've come and enjoying the accomplishment. No matter how much attention you need to pay to the road ahead, you still sometimes have to look in the rearview mirror to appreciate where you've come from. What successful team avoids performing a 'postmortem' on even a well-played game? Perfection is a direction, not an achievable goal; progress is what we're after. Future progress only comes from a healthy examination of where we've been. |

What are your Signs Saying about your Company?
| |
| The other day I was driving down highway 55 in New Jersey doing about 70 in the passing lane. I looked in my rearview mirror and there is a van on my tail, very close, specially at 70. Now all I am trying to do is pass a few slower cars, I brake light him a bit, but instead of getting off my butt, he gets closer.
I use to be a hot head, but now I think I am wiser, so I slow down and pull into the other lane. The guy zooms past me – ABC Plumbing*. Guess who is not going to be a customer of theirs.

Life Has A Windshield
| |
| You will spend much more time behind your car's steering wheel looking through the windshield than you will spend looking in the rear view mirror. That is not to say that you shouldn't take time to glance into the rear view mirror to check for danger so you can negotiate the road ahead safer and with more efficiency. Now compare that to your day-to-day life, do you have a tendency to look behind you and see only your failures and challenges; or are you like an experienced driver who checks it periodically for safety purposes but is totally focused on what lies ahead for you? |

Boomers … the Numbers, the Markets Keep Growing
| |
| You can fight it all you want but you're getting close to, passed through or can't even see it in the rearview mirror. It is your becoming part of the boomer plus generation. You may find it tough to find a pair of jeans that fit just right on you but don't forget boomers have most of the world's net worth, their numbers are growing faster than the GenX, GenY folks. They'll probably live longer than past generations, they're going to work longer, they'll stay involved/stay active, they're online more and they buy more PC/CE/content toys than the other groups. Maybe it's because we're just pushed past the early phases of Booming and our kids have been giving us a hard time. We just repeat in our mind what Mark Twain said, "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. " BAM !! Things are OK again. |
