Who’s in charge of your sales recruitment?
1. How much is a good sales person worth to you? 2. How much is a good hiring manager worth to you? Speaking about recruitment in these current economic times may seem foolish, however in the area of selling, this is where you could make great strides by picking up highly effective sales people who have found themselves on the job market or are looking for a better business to work in. I know of a few highly competent sales people and sales managers who have been let go along with other staff as part of large staff reduction strategies. In my opinion, the last people I would let go in this market would be highly competent and high producing sales people. Which leads me to the contentious issue about who makes the decisions to hire and fire sales people. In particular, who hires sales people.

Wanted: jobs for Africa’s youth - Policy Reforms
“For successful poverty reduction, African countries have to be in the driver’s seat,” says World Bank Africa Region Vice-President Gobind Nankani. “Africans know best where the shoe pinches. They should craft their own poverty-reduction strategies based on national realities.”

Microfinance as Key Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) Component: The Majority of PRSPs Include Access to Financial Services
By the late 1990s, it was clear that something was not working in the field of development. Deteriorating economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa, the failure of Structural Adjustment Programmes used by the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the question of how to link debt relief to poverty reduction led policy makers to adopt the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) initiative in September 1999.

3.0 Community action for decent work and social inclusion: Working Out of Poverty
Global and national strategies for poverty reduction should provide a framework for local strategies to escape cycles of low incomes from work and social exclusion. The ILO has considerable practical experience of community actions that create more and better jobs for women and men living in poverty and improve their chances of securing a life free from deprivation. Much of this work is in developing countries, but these approaches have also proved to be easily applicable in a number of transition and industrialized market economies.

7.4.4 Donors
In poor, aid-dependent countries, the likelihood of pro-poor training strategies being introduced will depend very heavily on the policies and practices of their main donor partners. Unless, therefore, donors are prepared to concentrate the bulk of their assistance on poverty reduction as well as change their policies on VET, the prospects for the implementation of pro-poor training strategies are seriously reduced in most of these countries.

Stop Workplace Stress In Its Tracks
It's difficult, if not impossible, to avoid stress entirely. These tactics will allow you to perform emergency stress reduction, but you must also be aware when you're beginning to feel stressed. Do a self-check periodically (hourly, when you get up and move, or some other interval that works for you) so you can notice stress build-up so you can take these stress reduction steps before the stress level becomes unmanageable.

Reduction to the Achievable
There is the classic sales technique called “reduction to the ridiculous”, whereby the cost of the item being offered for sale (or the premium above a competitor’s offering) is framed in terms of the cost of a daily cup of coffee. If we take the concept (a big thing made up of tiny pieces) and apply it to goal setting and target achievement, then it becomes a useful tool when undertaking an ambitious objective - "Reduction to the Achievable"

Appealing Your Property Taxes
Thousands of Texas homeowners will go through the property tax appeal process this year because the appraisal district incorrectly assessed their home's value. Sometimes getting a satisfactory reduction takes some time, but it is important to utilize the options available until you are offered a fair reduction.
