M.I. aka Hip-Hop Messiah, Uncut, a Ladybrille Exclusive
| |
| It is past midnight in Nigeria and roughly about 3:00pm in California when I get the call from Jude Abaga aka M.I. [pronounced ‘em eye’]. He has been out and about all day plus he tells me “dealing with Lagos traffic jams” aka “go slows” so he renegotiates our interview time. When his call comes through, he is full of apologies his voice taking on a humble tone, quite contrary to the one I am used to from my sound system i.e. bold, strong and unapologetic for his mad talent, intelligence and refreshing MC skills. |

How's Business? Don't Rush For the Life Boats
| |
| The wind had gone out of my sails. I had a sinking feeling, like I was going down for the third time . . . and I couldn’t even recall the first two. Yet, each time someone asked me, “How’s business,” I would reply, “Good.” It’s kind of a natural reply to a rhetorical question. No one really expects an answer. No one wants to hear bad news, or so you would think. |

The Hidden Importance of Listening
| |
| While he had everything under control, the prospect asked him a question and he proceeded to explain his position and then finally answered their question. The problem with that is the order should have been reversed. Any time a prospect asks you a question always answer their question first, then go into your explanation. |

Will Salespeople Take a Straight Commission Job?
| |
| Last week I spoke at the Ritz-Carlton in Phoenix and at Barton Creek Country Club in Austin, TX. I don't recall whether it was Phoenix or Austin where I was asked this question but the question is a good one.
Most who wrestle with this issue are asking the wrong question. The correct question should be, "How can I get good salespeople to work in a straight commission environment?" |

How to use the audience for dramatic effect when public speaking
| |
| Many of us would love to start mastering public speaking.
One particular technique that works wonders in any public speaking engagement is to involve the audience.
Think of when we converse with a friend.
Unless we are extremely self-centred, the chances are that we don’t just talk and leave all the listening to the other person. We ask questions, we seek verbal as well as visual confirmation, we pause and we use rhetorical questions to improve the communication process. |

How is the best way to make money online?
| |
| This has been a question not only asked by me when I first got started but just about everyone in the world. The question is either always “What or how is the best way to make money online?” It’s not a matter of if I will be asked this question, but more a matter of when. The majority of the time that I am asked this question is right before or right after someone starts an online business adventure. |
