Rituals: The Fabric of a High-performing Team
| |
| As illustrated in my book, Passionate Performance, our rituals create the fabric of our culture, and they are critical for defining connections within our teams. Once we establish deeply ingrained team rituals, we view them as “the way we do things around here.”
We can create rituals around recognition, performance, accomplishments, service, learning, etc. Whatever form the ritual takes, it creates connections. Effective rituals connect our team members to each other and to the leader. Select rituals that fit your style and the chemistry of your team. It has to feel comfortable and natural to be effective.

Build or Enhance your Business Online with Giveaways and Free Products
| |
| What is an online giveaway? It is a website event where online marketers will give you software, graphics, templates, websites, ebooks and reuseable articles...absolutely free! Does that sound too good to be true? Probably, but in this case it actually is not too good to be true. Giveaways can be great and you can use them to build your business...but just as I always say, it is still going to take learning the ropes, time and sweat equity...or lots and lots of money! Does this mean that you should avoid the giveaways like the online version of a plague? No...it does not mean you should avoid them...just use them wisely and well. |

Career Passion and Hard Work
| |
| Passion is mostly a good thing-right? Then I thought about Mel Gibson’s Movie, “The Passion of the Christ,” and with all the negative publicity around Mel these days, I wasn’t so sure any more. So I went and looked up “passion” in the dictionary. It said that “passion” is from the Latin verb patior, meaning to suffer or to endure.

The only concussion that I could come to was that passion seemed to be a desire for suffering, but that did not seem rite either so I kept on looking. Then I came across an article written by Curt Roengren: “4 Myths About Career Passion.” Here’s what he says...

Reflection and Renewal

| During the 18th century, two explorers set out with small flights of ships to find the fabled Northwest Passage that cuts through the Arctic Circle across the top of North America connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. It was widely agreed that the first to discover this elusive passage to China and India would find fame and fortune. Captain John Smith was bold and impatient. He believed that speed was critical to winning the race against the competition led by Captain Henry Jones. |
