Golden Goggles
Last week I had the privilege of presenting Michael Phelps with the Male Athlete of the Year award. Along with former Olympian Don Schollander, I enjoyed reviewing some of the great moments of the Beijing Olympics. Of course, Phelps and his eight gold epic is one of the greatest achievements in the history of sport.

Mental Health and Wellness - De-clutter and Let Go of that Baggage
As human beings we have some pretty interesting views on life, death and the world. Sometimes we believe that hanging onto things keeps the memory of someone we love who has passed or an old love alive. In fact quiet often it holds us stuck in our pain, and has a negative impact on your mental health and wellbeing, so that the physical stuff we keep is a representation of the emotional baggage attached to it. So why am I in a position to be an authority on this subject? If you have read some of my blog posts or know of me, you will also know that my eldest son Ryan died in 2007. The Future of Twitter. When Will It Finally Evolve?
I’ve been reading with interest the opinions of marketers I respect such as Ryan Deiss and John Reese about Twitter. Certainly the dust has not settled on whether it ultimately proves to be little more than a fad or if it manages to reinvent itself into something that actually has a workable application. Because, right now, it's a mess. The total tonnage of noise just overwhelms the system. Quite frankly if someone was responding to a tweet of mine, I'm not even sure how it would get on my radar screen. The sheer din of sales pitches and idle blather drowns out what could be beneficial, interesting or thought provoking.

Your Online Copy Must Deliver Proof of "Cred"
In the year 2000, there was a movie starring Russell Crowe and Meg Ryan called Proof of Life in which Ryan's husband was kidnapped by guerilla rebels and held for ransom. Before she could pay, Russell Crowe stepped in as the hostage negotiator and said she wouldn't pay without some sign the husband was still alive. He demanded "Proof of Life" from the kidnappers. The selling equivalent of this is proof of credibility. Before a sales prospect will consider doing business with you, he will want to see clear signs that you are the real deal.
