The Train Keeps on Rolling ...
There's the "imminent" threat to American economic pre-eminence from China and India. There was a similar, "on our last legs" threat 25 years ago from Japan. And economist and former MIT biz-school dean Lester Thurow claimed a decade or so ago that Europe would eclipse us in the years (or was it weeks?) to come.

Reinventing Foreign Aid: "Help Us Help Ourselves"
Participants discussed how to improve aid allocation, increase its efficiency and reduce wastage. The goal is to deploy aid better to enhance the prospects for sustainable development, said Robert Klitgaard, Professor of International Development and Security and Dean, The RAND Graduate School, USA. Joaquim Alberto Chissano, President of Mozambique, agreed that the key issue is efficiency. He noted that often while donors and recipients might agree on principles and delivery terms, full implementation of aid programmes are often not smooth or timely. Problems arise sometimes for such simple reasons as the difference between when the fiscal year begins in developing countries and developed ones. The aid community must look at ways to solve problems and improve efficiency so that non performing countries become performing ones.

From Go Fast Kids to Calm Kids
Making that transition from holiday mode to classroom. How excited do kids get with the start of school approaching? Getting kids to go from the freedom of school holidays to move to that place of being settled and ready for school can be a challenge for some parents. Become a Student Of Success And Change Everything
I heard this term long after I was a student of the learning environment known as school. When I was in school I never had good grades and becoming a success seemed to be something that was left for others. In school we are all graded on the merits of the people who excel at learning. This article is about how anyone from all walks of life can change their life to be anything that they want it to be. Its about how, after many years of believing that I had to settle for what life dealt me by not being good in school was something I could change. I heard that to change your life you had to change the way you think.

New School Year: Lessons from a Middle Schooler
Today is the first day of school in Michigan and I am the new mom to a Middle Schooler!. Time has flown so quickly. It seems like just yesterday that I was holding him in the rocking chair in his room. I remember looking at his little legs and thinking to myself, some day his legs will hang over mine when he sits on my lap. I cant even imagine it. And now here we are, its been years since hes spent any time on my lap. His legs would almost hit the ground, all in the blink of an eye. Where has the time gone? I watch with amazement as he heads off to Middle School with nothing more than anticipation. Hallways to maneuver, new school, way more kids, lockers and classes to find. His elementary school is nothing more than a fond memory and he is ready to move on. I am so proud of him today!

How to structure your business to protect your intellectual property
It was only after Dean signed one half of the shares over to his General Manager that he realised what he had done. The intention when he sold those shares was to give away half of his Auckland business. However, what Dean had inadvertently done was give away half of his dreams and aspirations for the brand which he had spent five years building up from scratch. A simple step taken before the share sale could have avoided this problem, but Dean was now looking at buying back the shares from someone who didnt want to sell.
