Measure yourself as a manager Go for gold
Going for gold; what does it mean and what is your ‘gold’? You can never achieve anything lasting that is not in your nature. You cannot achieve anything that you have not a natural inclination for, with of course the appropriate mental and physical attributes. A gold medal is nothing without self worth – think of the Olympic athletes, or Tour de France cyclists who cheated, who took performance enhancing drugs, to achieve gold. Gold at any cost is not worth it. Such an attitude demeans the perpetrators and will not allow them to grow as human beings to reach their full natural potential – high, low or indifferent.

Self Esteem + Self Confidence + Self Respect = Self Worth.
Self esteem is an internal sense of worth. Self esteem reflects an inner confidence and self-respect and shines outwardly by the actions one takes. What evolves on the inside is usually reflected on the outside. Your internal self worth which consists of your self-esteem, self confidence and self respect will become your external net worth. It’s a matter of pride in who you are and the mentor you can be.

Eyes Across the Room
Having tried the new fangled thing of internet dating, with less than great success, undeterred I decided to go back to tried and tested measures, a bar! Spending time going through the wardrobe, trying everything on before even looking into the mirror, with the odd slurp of vino to help my judgment! Just knowing "it does not feel right", my debut into a bar with music and full of strangers, is like preparing for the opening of the Olympics. Some kind friends have said "come out with us", (all couples of course, but I am very grateful for their invitation).

To Dream the Impossible Dream
"To dream the impossible dream, to right the unrightable wrong that is my quest" What happens when your dream is somebody else's nightmare? Having made my debut into the Costa Blanca Social Scene, (quite successfully - I felt), well I did end up at home, in one piece, (maybe a bit wobbly), I was enthused to participate more. So, during these two weeks I have made a concentrated effort: 1 party, 2 Business Meetings, 5 bars (not all with vino), 1 tarot reading (I need all the help I can get) and a meal out with a friend (not male).

What Are You Worth?
I’ve always thought that sales reps have an invisible dollar sign $ above their heads with a number that represents how much money they think they are worth. It is this financial image that determines how they perform more than any other single factor. It’s more important than what the economy is doing, or how their leads are, or what their territory is like or anything else.

A Big Fat Issue
The whole "fat" issue is almost a trillion dollar industry. One pound of fat means so many things, to so many people. For some a fleeting thought, to others a cause for suicide. The actual fat itself is not the problem, but the reality to ourselves of what it makes us feel; reality like beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Discovering Your True Self-Worth
There is only one way to truly discover your true self-worth and that is by understanding and knowing who you really are. Well, how many people do you know that have dedicated their lives to a particular profession and that appeared to be successful but aren't happy?

Where Does Courage Live?
Courage is something that people talk about but they don't necessarily know when they're doing it. And the reason for that is because in that moment, the one requiring courage, they aren't aware that they need to exhibit it; rather, they're busy being courageous.

The Meaning of Confidence
Confidence is the result of practice.

The Need to Achieve
The need to achieve is one of the more visible needs in our society. It fuels performance in the worlds of sports (Gold Medal anyone?), music, politics, media and certainly, business. We all have a need to achieve. At one level or another, everyone wants to succeed at something. An unfulfilled need for achievement leads to frustration, disappointment and a decreased sense of self-worth. Just think of a simple goal of getting to work on time and the silly red traffic light that prevents you from achieving that goal. Yep, you know the feeling, but these are not feelings we want our team (or ourselves!) to have.

The Seeds for Financial Success are Planted Early
We all know that money cannot buy happiness. Nor is it the root of all evil.

You are Priceless
Find the you that you truly want to be, the you of abundance and hope and not the you of separation and lack.

THE MASTERY OF HARDSHIPS
"Life is Difficult, and when we come to accept that life is difficult, it no longer seems so!" (Scott Peck) It is a bit of a paradox but true happiness, as in intrinsic, in fact is a resulting symptom of a life well spent in solving problems and overcoming hardships.

Enhancing Your Self-Image
Success is an inside job. Even if your body and mind are ready, willing, and able to learn and do whatever is necessary to get the job done, a negative self-image may stop you. Although we create many outward images of ourselves-so we can interact with or impress others and sell our ideas or services-we only have one self-image. The way we view ourselves determines the level of success we attain in anything. To achieve more success, some parts of our sense of self will have to change.

Today is the Day
How many days do we wake up and say “today is the day I am going to …..start a diet, stop drinking, stop smoking,” getting out of bed with the best resolve, we start on a mission, but by 11am the cravings, or the little voice in the head is saying just one cigarette or a biscuit won’t hurt. But with great willpower some of us get over this hurdle and get to lunchtime, meeting friends it is hard not to indulge in a glass or two of vino, so our resolve weakens and we say to ourselves, never mind I will start tomorrow!! Then when tomorrow comes we go through the same or similar routine; until our promises to ourselves don’t come to mean much to us, they don’t have much value and we don’t mind breaking them.
