Solve Problems Permanently Ask WHY
Someone once said that the real issue behind a problem, is one or more levels below the problem. So, solving problems by fire-fighting when they arise, is firstly, not going to actually solve the problem for good. Sales is the Most Stressful Job There is. Wrong. With the correct adaptability strategies, sales can be fun, financially rewarding and emotionally satisfying. True Sales Professionals are Born
WRONG – Sales is like any other profession. If you are an accountant you went through years of training to receive that designation of CPA. It is your spouse’s birthday next week and you’ve just found out you have to be out of town on business (again). Yesterday’s emails, all marked “urgent,” still sit unopened in your inbox. You will skip lunch today to catch up. Oops! You forgot. You have a lunch meeting. Welcome to the new normal!

Problem Solving: Step One
The first step to solving any problem is asking yourself this question: Am I trying to solve a problem or am I trying to change something that I have no power to change? In my world a problem is something that I can solve with the resources that are at my disposal using skills I own within a reasonable length of time. Something I can’t change is a condition, not a problem. We’ve all hear “conditions of employment.” haven't we?

Why Setting Financial Goal For a New Entrepreneur Can Feel Scary
As entrepreneurs, we get paid for results, solving problems and our creativity. This fact reinforced my fear of not achieving the goal. Over a period of time, I discovered that it is OK to set a financial goal, but constantly keep these two things in mind while pursuing your financial goal: 1. Be emotionally detached from the financial goal/money itself. 2. Be inspired and give focused attention and energy to “WHY” you set the financial goal and WHAT you want to do with the money.

Become Your Problem
Mahatma Gandhi once said "You must become the change you seek in the world." I believe the same logic can be applied to solving problems. If you become your problem, you actually stand a better chance of solving it. As I watch the drama of the oil spill and clean up unfold, I am reminded that some problems are particularly nasty to resolve. One technique that often leads to helpful and creative insights is to personify the problem and try to analyze it as if you were the object. This is particularly helpful in team environments. This technique was useful in the remarkable rescue of the Apollo 13 Astronauts. Once you attempt to act and feel like a stuck valve or an overheated radiator, you can elicit some highly creative solutions to challenging problems. The attached story is a cute reminder of this principle.
