When to Listen
| |
| I always ask other people what they think. Whether it’s in my real-life boardroom when I’m making a multi-million dollar business decision or whether it’s on the set of The Apprentice in my famous boardroom, I like to know what people think. After all, I surround myself with talented advisors for that very reason. I value their opinions and want to hear them. But that doesn’t mean I always do what they say.

Retirement Is Not The Goal, Entrepreneurism Is
| |
| Most working men and women over the age of 50 start thinking about retirement, and many start planning for it. They do their due diligence on investment strategies, position themselves well in their companies, review their estate planning, and so on. While each individual step in retirement planning in amongst itself is sound advice, the main question to ask during this transitional phase in their lives is, "What is the goal?" Retirement should not be the goal. Retirement limits your potential to positively impact the lives of others. Owning a simple yet fully principled internet business where you are the centerpiece of leadership is the key to getting all the benefits of retirement, with the added advantages of residual income and a source of true happiness for you and your family. |

How Do I Develop Attainable Goals?
| |
| The internet, books and courses are flooded with information about goal setting and goal planning. This is all great information for a seasoned business owner with a higher ratio of working on their business to working in their business. New business owners, however, listen to audio CDs and read books about goal setting, then ignore it to work on their AdWords campaign. They see the benefit of proper goal planning but do not think they have the time to do it properly since it took them over a week to read a book about it.
This article lays out a simple yet robust plan to develop attainable goals in less than 30 minutes. Plus, with its revolving structure, as more goals are met, more get created, giving the business owner confidence that goals are being met while striving for the big picture. |

| |
| You see, it all starts with your offer and clearly understanding the unique transformation that comes from investing with you. If you are clear about your offer and the outcome your clients will enjoy, then when you present it, it won't sound like pitching. It will sound like an extension of your contribution and content. The More Things Change--The More They Stay the Same
| |
| With change occurring all around us daily, there are some pieces of advice that stand the test of time (and dramatic market shifts!)
Occasionally, we will revisit an article from previous years at the request of some of our readers. In this particular instance, we discovered that advice that's sound for good times is even more sound during tough times!
Below, you will find an article that I wrote back in Spring of 2005 at the height of the new construction "boom" here in Northern California. The article points out the need to pay attention when things are really rocking in your business. The interesting part is that the advice given as a result of the example in the article holds true today in the midst of a much different marketplace. The more things change, the more they stay the same---pay attention! Gerry |
