Never Leave a Meeting Feeling Good
| |
| Do your meetings result in everyone feeling good after they leave? Does very little get done in your meetings? If so, your meetings function like most, and they are probably worthless!
Most often leaders are concerned with there being too many meetings, or meetings being too long, or some other wrong measurement. I would like to suggest that you change your measurement systems. For example, a good leading indicator that something important is being discussed is conflict. Other indicators of good meetings are the number of decisions made and the number of people held accountable for decisions made at the prior meetings. These are real indicators that your meetings are worthwhile. If you have a really good meeting, then everyone leaves feeling uncomfortable because there is so much more to be done, and they have a stake in it!

Lesson #1: Be A Good Leader
| |
| “Having a personality of caring about people is important,” says Branson. “You can’t be a good leader unless you generally like people. That is how you bring out the best in them.” |

|
Lesson #2: Build A Powerful Brand
| |
| In 2005, Branson said his goal was to turn Virgin into “the most respected brand in the world.” Branson is not far off from achieving his goal. Virgin was recently found to be one of the UK’s top three favourite and most respected brand names and both the brand and the man behind it are known throughout the world. |

Lesson #5: Stick To Your Guns
| |
| Rare is the entrepreneur who has achieved success by simply following the advice of others. Being willing to make unpopular decisions and having the resolve to stick to his decisions even in the face of doubt and criticism was what propelled Hershey to success. His choices were often questioned for their business sense and were thus not always popular with everyone from his wife to his advisors. But, in true entrepreneurial fashion, Hershey stuck to his guns. |

Lesson #4: Make People Your Priority
| |
| “Somebody once said that in looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence, and energy,” says Buffett. “And if they don't have the first, the other two will kill you. You think about it; it's true. If you hire somebody without the first, you really want them to be dumb and lazy.” |

Lesson #2: Strike Out A New Path

| “If you want to succeed you should strike out on new paths, rather than travel the worn paths of accepted success,” said Rockefeller. |

Lesson #3: Preserve Your Reputation No Matter What the Cost
| |
| As his success solidified and his name became a regular feature in the households of America, Hines found himself on the receiving end of numerous offers for collaboration from other entrepreneurs and businessmen. He was relatively new to the game, and he needed their help to expand his business while he could still capitalize on his successes - or so they thought. |

A Closed Mouth Never Gets Fed
| |
| I don’t watch a lot of television, but this one commercial sticks out to me about a kid who was born with seemingly ultimate confidence: asking girls out for dates even though he’s clearly shorter and younger; graduating college when most graduate high school; performing open-heart surgery in a crowded concert hall with a ballpoint pen. But when it comes to negotiating a fair price for a new car, he’s frozen in his tracks. |

7 Best Ways To Lower Your Car Insurance Gears
| |
| Car insurance costs are not fixed. They can be reduced by a person who is determined to get them lowered. This is not difficult to do. SALES PRESENTATION ... THE BOTTOM LINE IS SELLING
| |
| Talk about two sides of the coin just think of the sales call. If you're in sales then it is all about the person in front of the other person/group. If you're in marketing it is all about the polished, super slick presentation. If you're the CEO and CFO it's all about the order. Surprise!!!! It takes them all. And a presentation should be tailored by the sales people so that it fits their style and the audience. And it should go where few marketing people have gone before...it should ask for the order. The best sales call is a gentle balance of the sales people and their sales tools. We just want to make it better for them. |

Celebrities And Their Three Basic Elements In Advertising Techniques
| |
| In all advertising techniques, the use of celebrities ranks as number one. Three basic qualifiers help the businesses to successfully carry out their purpose. These are Reliability, Appeal, and Competence.
The Reliability is one that makes the consumers believe in the product promoted. The endorser therefore, must be reliable. His reliability as a person should be well established, otherwise, his reliability as a product endorser is dubious. |

For Poor Results, Work Like Crazy
| |
| Here’s a really unintelligent idea: Work like crazy without a break for thirty to forty years so you can do . . . nothing for the next thirty to forty years.
An effective time manager knows the importance of grouping similar activities together in one block of time—but this tip should be applied to days or weeks, not to forty-year spans.
This article will discuss whole-life symmetry and why it's better than working like crazy and more effective than "work-life balance".

The New Rules of What-If
| |
| If you own a computer or read the news, you’ve probably heard of the “two Steves” – Jobs and Wozniak, who founded Apple Computers in 1976. Far less likely is that you’ve heard of Ron Wayne. He designed the Apple logo and along with Steve Jobs and Wozniak, was one of the original founding partners in Apple. Afraid that their new startup computer company would fail, Ron sold back his 10% stake in Apple for $800, only 12 days after he got it. If he’d held onto that $800 stake, even as a silent partner, today he’d be worth around $22 billion. |

Make a fortune buying under performing businesses.
| |
| The fundamental principle of investing is to buy low and sell high. Every investor seeks to achieve this principle, regardless of what they invest in. Whether you trade stocks, bonds, gold or real estate, everyone seeks to find the diamond in the ruff or “The Bargain”. If you’ve ever read my blogs, or spoken to me on the phone, you know that I look at business ownership as an investment, and just like all the other investments, there are “Bargains” here as well and you could make a fortune buying under performing businesses as long as you know what to look for. |

Questions to ask before Writing a Proposal
| |
| A lot of time gets wasted on proposal-writing. Before we invest this effort, there are some basic questions worth asking. Not only do these questions filter out time-wasters, they actually enhance our chances of winning the bid.For example, most professionals are aware of the risk when our entire relationship with the client organisation hinges on one person. But do we consistently translate this into a strategy to build relationships with other key decision-influencers? A question such as “Who else has a key stake in the success of this?” can open some significant doors for the future.Learning to ask the right questions not only saves wasted time and effort, it enhances our credibility as potential suppliers. And it dramatically cuts down that awful task of chasing a proposal on which we have heard nothing since we sent it in.
