The Best News
There are many different attitudes. Roberto de Vincenzo, a golfer from Argentina, beautifully displayed one of the best ones many years ago when he won the Masters Golf Tournament but was denied the coveted green jacket. I say he won it because he had the lowest score at the end of four days. But his playing partner who kept the score had inadvertently written that he had made a five on one of the holes when in reality he had made a four. De Vincenzo signed the card, and when an incorrect card is signed, the player is disqualified. He had not cheated, but the rules stood. What was his reaction when he learned he was disqualified? Did he blame his playing partner? No, he said he made a stupid mistake. He accepted full responsibility himself. Now what kind of man is he?

Stupid People Stupid Questions
No doubt, you have often heard it said, "There are no stupid questions," or, "The only stupid question is the question you didn't ask." Although these statements-of-truth are often repeated, over the years I have found that very, very few people ever really ask the questions they should. Stupidity is a learned condition ... not an inherited trait.

Fantastic Post By Calacanis On How To Get PR
Anyone who has worked with me knows that one of my favorite lines is "marketing is stupid." And - if you really know me - you know that I don't actually mean "marketing is stupid", but I use it as a proxy for "most PR people suck, most marcom is done poorly, and most companies have no idea what they are trying to accomplish with all the money they waste on shitty marketing and PR."

The Single Biggest Mistake That Salespeople Make
Ask 10 people and you'll get 10 different answers about the biggest mistake that salespeople make. Ask the question a bit differently and I will give you a different answer too. But ask the question in the title - "What is the single biggest mistake that salespeople make?", with the key word being mistake - something they do incorrectly rather than due to a weakness - and I can provide data to back it up. There are actually 3 mistakes that are nearly always made but 2 of them happen as a result of the single biggest mistake.

It's That Time Of The (Election) Year
Here we are now, three weeks before the mid-term U.S. elections, and it's Stupid Season. Judging from the ads we see and hear in a constant daily bombardment, we are supposed to be stupid enough to believe anything, and evidence would only confuse us.

The Banner of Success
Each of us is born with unlimited potential and unlimited options. As infants, we are quite certain that the entire universe revolves around us. Things are only important as they impact or relate to our lives. It's almost as if we were born with a banner that proclaims I'm lovable; I'm capable; and I'm able to do anything I set my mind to. As time goes on, we make the mistake of allowing other people to write things on our banner. And they will write things such as You're ugly; You're stupid; or You will never amount to anything.

Less is Often More
I just got off the phone with the CEO of a company who was steaming mad, not at me fortunately, at his senior V.P. who had just made a really, really stupid mistake. I have been coaching this man and know him quite well. However, one of the lessons he has yet to learn is when to "zip it". He thinks, and we have talked about this, that because he is the head honcho he can say whatever he wants whenever he wants and there will be no repercussions.
