Lighten Up / Tighten Up
As I was writing my previous post about The Constipation of Scale I got an email from a co-investor talking about a CEO / CTO conflict. It had an interesting phrase in it that I realized applies to many CEO / CTO relationships – “CEO needs to lighten up and CTO needs to tighten up.”

Most people say that you can replicate success by using tried and true methods; many say that copywriting is swiping a few files to replicate success. It works in some cases but if you want to take your success to a whole new level, you need a big idea. How do you generate Big Ideas? You don’t sit there and meditate and suddenly one big idea comes out... No, really. It doesn’t happen like that. You sit down, and generate 50 ideas. Or 100 ideas. Or even better, 300 ideas. Violence in Shoplifting
You will often hear the term “Shoplifting is a Victimless Crime”, this certainly is not necessarily always the case. A Case for Marketing Experimentation Making Failure Work For You
We all know what success is: it's meeting goals and expectations based on how we define them. But do we learn from success? In most cases no. Career Tips for High Achievers Who Are Feeling Stagnant
High achievers are prone to enter a time in their career where they plateau or stall. Perhaps promotions are not coming as fast and furious as they once did or in some cases, they have achieved every goal they have set and have run out of challenges. Achievers will ask themselves, "Is this all there is?" After striving for success, when success levels out, the feeling of advancement is replaced by a feeling of stagnation. This condition could be called Achievers Depression or Career Stall.

Eliminate the Fear
What’s the biggest thing holding you back from taking your blogging business to the next level of success? In most cases, it’s not money. You don’t need much money to do this. In most cases, it’s not time. Everyone has the same amount of time in the day. If you have a couple of hours a day to invest in your business, you can do this (stop watching too much TV or whatever else you do with your time).

Successful People Face Their Fears and Act
Fear is the enemy of self confidence. Self confident people face their fears and act. Procrastination is the manifestation of fear. When you find yourself procrastinating, figure out what scares you about the situation. Is it fear of failure? Is it fear of success? Is it fear of rejection? Is it fear of being embarrassed? Is it fear of the unknown? Once you've figured out why you are afraid, do three things; admit your fear to yourself, embrace your fear, and take action. Action is the antidote to fear. In most cases, you'll choose wisely and your fears won't be realized. In the cases when you choose poorly, you'll find that failure isn't as catastrophic as you imagined. Successful people learn from their failures.
