Successful people have qualities in common. But, one thing in common in all these successful people is that they have experienced significant failures in life or in their work but they have learned from their failures.

Success - Something To Chew On
Even if you aren't a connoisseur of chewing gum, you'll find something to chew on in this short story: One day, Mr. Wrigley (of chewing gum fame) was traveling on a train between New York and Chicago. His traveling companion asked him why he continued to spend so much money on advertising and publicity.

Trust, Abundance and Success
Successful people are competent at building strong, mutually beneficial relationships with the important people in their lives. A trusting attitude and abundance mentality are the best way to build relationships. When you trust yourself, others and the universe, you will approach life from an abundance mentality. You'll be willing to give of yourself with no expectation of direct return. What is the Secret of Success?

How to Stay in the Game for the Long Haul by Working in Success Cycles
My mentor taught me that by working in success cycles, you will stay in the game for the long haul. Just like nature works in seasons, there are also success cycles. There is a time to learn, a time to produce, a time to harvest and reap the rewards, and a time to rest. Most people live busy lives and try to squeeze in as many activities in the day as possible. We start the day working on one project, and then we get side tracked to do something else. A few hours later, we jump back into the same project we started with, but somehow lose the momentum and rhythm to do it. We try to multitask as much as possible. I’m not saying that we should stop multi-tasking, but sometimes we need to step back and perhaps focus on one thing at a time. We should learn how to work in success cycles.

Change Your Friends
You will only be as successful as the people you associate with the most. So take a look around you and see if you are living up to your potential or limiting yourself to the potential of your closest friends. If not, you might want to consider a change in your social scene. Don't let your current close associates be the ones that are pulling you down or holding you back from reaching your highest dreams and goals.

The Winner's Edge - It Separates the Winner from the Loser
So what separates the winners from the losers? It’s having the winner’s edge. It’s the little difference that makes all the difference in the world and separates people from the rest of the pact. The winners take the potential they were born with and live up to that potential. The winners make things happen, while losers simply let things happen. The winner’s edge lies in your attitude. The sharpness of that edge will all depend on whether your attitude is positive or negative.

How Do You Know If YOU Respond Effectively To Adversity?
You've heard the saying, "Change your thinking - change your results". It's true, but do you know what thinking needs to change and from what to what? It's not just about heaving positive thoughts on top of a dismal situation. Nor is it about denial. A bad decision followed by hopeful thinking doesn't change the bad decision into a good one. Understanding how the High Performer is able to achieve a desired outcome is the first step we must take to improve our own productivity.

The only difference between a successful person and a non successful person is in the way that they think. Knowing that, if you could learn how to think like a successful person, wouldn’t that be a good investment in time? In re-reading The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz I realized that it is one thing to say “think like a successful person,” and it is another thing to know just exactly how to do that. “When you believe, your mind finds a way to do.” Schwartz suggests the following ways to help teach yourself how to think and dream creatively as successful people do:

Maximize Your Potential by Having a Positive Attitude
