The Art of Speed: Conversations with Monster Makers
I had a blast organizing and moderating the “Art of Speed” panel at the incredible SXSW conference a few months ago. It was standing room only (at least from what I could see), and I learned a ton from some of the best at creating monster hits.

Don't Be Casual
Coming out of the Venture Capital in the Rockies conference, I was pleasantly surprised with how solid most of the presentations were. There was plenty of pre-conference preparation, practice, and iteration from the companies presenting – and it showed.

Blurb Books a Great Tool for Telling Your Story
I ran into a service called Blurb at the SXSW Interactive Conference this March and think they have a tool that has some great small business marketing applications. Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.
I recently had the pleasure of attending and speaking at the 6th CIPS Australasia Annual Conference for the procurement profession. It was my third invitation to speak at a CIPSA event in my capacity as a professional representing the sales profession. The theme for this conference was ‘Managing Volatility’. A key message I gleaned from the conference was Value Management rather than the narrow band width of Cost Management.

Two paths for successful group events
I'm talking about trade shows, SXSW, street marketing... There are two ways to be glad you went:

Are press conferences dead?
Despite some opinions, the press conference is still alive. Here are some examples of when holding a press conference may be a good idea.
