11 Ways To Drive Traffic Away From Your Website
| |
| While watching a Toronto Raptor basketball game I saw T.J. Ford, one of the fastest players in the league, rush down the court like a man possessed and proceed to throw the ball behind his back to a trailing Andrea Bargnani. The trouble was the ball sailed over the head of the seven-foot Bargnani into the second row of seats. Ford, himself, ended up with a beer and popcorn facial after landing in the lap of a front row patron. So what does this have to do with website design and marketing you ask? A lot. |

Rolling Into The World: Henry Ford Is Born
| |
| “I was born on July 30, 1863, on a farm at Dearborn, Michigan, and my earliest recollection is that, considering the results, there was too much work on the place.” Even as a child, Henry Ford had an eye for innovation. It was this ability to recognize shortcomings and set out to solve them that led Ford to create Ford Motor Co. in 1903, not only revolutionizing the transport industry but also making him one of the richest men in the world. |

Lesson #3: Be Efficient
| |
| “We are never satisfied with the way that everything is done in any part of the organization,” said Ford of his operations at Ford Motor Co. “We always think it ought to be done better and that eventually it will be done better. Everything can always be done better than it is being done.” |

Henry Ford and the source of our fear
| |
| Henry Ford left us much more than cars and the highway system we built for them. He changed the world’s expectations for work. While Ford gets credit for “inventing the assembly line,” his great insight was that he understood the power of productivity. |

Is Ford’s auto-xchange the “Real Deal?” (Survey Response 1)
| |
| In a recent video that was released by The Ford Motor Company, Ford's Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Jim Yost indicated that the company has to "share information in real-time" and therefore can no longer use "the sequential processes” in which there were many “handoffs" and "transfers of information."
Yost also emphasized the fact that Ford needs to "integrate much more closely with their customers, supply base and even internally," as well as stressing the importance of making information available to multiple levels of their supply base "simultaneously," thereby eschewing the current "cascade processes that might take days, weeks and even months" to disseminate.

You Can Have Any Colour As Long As It Is Black
| |
| Henry Ford in 1922 was quoted as saying about his Model T Ford “the customer can have any colour as long as it is black”. Today we smile at this, and say of course this doesn’t happen today ... but it does!
Smart businesses know that often their product may be substantially the same as in previous years, but they still need to create some sort of difference to encourage buyers to purchase their product. Often this difference is in packaging or colours.

Actions and Attitudes and Fiscal Fitness
| |
| Henry Ford once asked one of his young automotive engineers, "What is your life ambition?" The young man said, "I want to become very rich." A couple of days later, Ford approached the engineer and instructed him to put on a pair of glasses, which instead of having glass lenses had silver dollars in the frame. Then he asked the engineer, "What do you see?" "Nothing," the guy replied.
Having made his point, the auto giant said, "Then maybe you should rethink that ambition of yours." The man had money right in front of his eyes, but he couldn't see it. |

Is It Time to Rebuild America's Middle Class
| |
| While the Ford Motor Company is certainly associated with Detroit, Ford also cranked out cars in Pittsburgh, PA, reports Mike Farrell with aspenIbiz. Read this short post as it will explain how Pittsburgh’s Ford plant illustrates that America’s complex manufacturing backbone was created over many decades yet was wiped out in 10 years. In order to rebuild its middle class, America must make a conscious and collective national decision to be friendlier to capital investment in order to create opportunities associated with energy, mining, manufacturing, distributing, and selling goods and services.
