A positive work-out for your brain for business owners and would-be business owners alike
There are many of us that go to the gym to give our bodies a work-out, but how many of you give you mind a work-out too? I would hazard a guess that not many people give their brain a physical work-out; there are those of you that have bought the "Nintendo Brain Tease", which is said to help our brains and our memory. However, this is not many people that even do this and what I have in mind is to change your thinking to a positive mode of thinking, so here goes my idea for a brain work out: 1. Each day you wake up make sure you "Think in a positive way". Begin your day with a big smile and take your mind off to a lovely place, a special place you would love to be. This could be a Caribbean Island or by your favourite lake, it does not matter, all that matters is that when you think about this place it makes you feel really good.

Book Review: Television Secrets for Marketing Success
Joseph Sugarman is probably best known for his BluBlocker® sunglasses, which he sold in print, by informercial, on QVC, and retail. Although this book is ten years old, his key insights are still relevant today.

One Size Does Not Fit All
Don't rely solely on one press release to do all of your work. It's important that you modify the release to fit the needs of the media outlet you're pitching.

Support for your Business…Starting at Home
As things have been a bit crazy around our house since starting a home based business, I have been thinking how lucky and blessed that I am to have a husband who is supportive in my business endeavors. I hear time and time again from women that their spouses are not only unsupportive, but in fact they tease, taunt and try to make their wives feel like they are silly to even attempt a business. My heart goes out to these women, and it saddens me to hear stories like this. It is difficult to pursue a dream when the person who is to be your closest friend and supporter acts just the opposite. I sometimes wonder why some spouses act this way, but will never fully understand. I can only assume a variety of reasons: jealousy, fear of change, feelings of neglect.

What You Do Best
Each time you reconsider your market positioning, be sure to include a few exercises to hone in on what you do best in your business. You want to tease out those activities that you absolutely love to do and those activities you are the very best at in the world.

You Have the Right to...Ask for Help!
You Have the Right to...Ask for Help! In my seminars I often tease that some women believe they were born with a tattoo that says, "I can do it all"...or "I must do it all." I then ask for someone to show me that tattoo. Although we all laugh, it's not a laughing matter. The sad fact is that 67 percent of working mothers in America come home and make dinner all by themselves. Worse yet, 72 percent of them clean up after dinner, again all by themselves. Let's look at the younger generation. My children have known since they were small that there's no such thing as the "Kitchen Fairy." Food doesn't magically

Support Local Businesses - Drive, Learn, and GROW
Have you ever driven by a little store and decided to finally drop in and asked “how long have you been here?” and they reply “years”? And isn’t it embarrassing that you thought they had only been there a few months or just opened? With my daughter owning her little Toy Store, I realized that I have NOT been the best supporter of other local businesses. It’s too easy for us to go to a one stop “Big Box” store to do our shopping and it squelches our learning, our exposure, and our FUN. So this year I’ve decided that at least 1 day a week I’m stopping at those little “emerging” businesses and supporting them. I’m going in and often times when I ask “are you the owner” I hear “YES!” I then tease about their “cot” being in the back room. It’s always my pleasure to say – I’m a business owner too – congratulations on your
