Lesson #2: Prioritize Your Customer
“There is only one boss,” said Walton. “The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else.”

Sales Digging In Progress: Get Prospects to Listen to You
Salespeople often wonder, “What can I say in an introduction to get a prospect to listen more to me?” Dogs are masters with getting their masters to listen. Here are two dog lessons to learn how to introduce yourself to get what you want.

Here Is A Method That Is Helping New Managers To Gain More Time
How many times have you heard individuals say, “I don’t have time to do that” Hundreds? I meet people everyday who say, “I don’t have time to… If you are a new manager you need to find the time - here is how.

The Principle of Telescopic Vision
Many years later I found myself instructing skiing. In a sport where gravity can be your friend or your enemy, your vision is very important. Again I learned that you must choose your path long before you get there. You must look far enough ahead that you can pick and place each turn. This makes skiing much more enjoyable. In fact it is important to actually ski the course in you mind before you even start your descent.

Part 1 - After the ball is over
The ball is very definitely over. A good time was had by all but what a mess to cleanup! This cleanup has been compounded by the errant behaviour of some of the leaders and organizers of the ball: unbounded greed, ethical standards have been eroded, personal values have been overturned, virtues have been diminished to the point of ridicule, morality has been questioned, integrity has been ignored, trust forgotten and the meaning of life seems to have been lost. This cleanup will be a massive task.

11 Ways To Drive Traffic Away From Your Website
While watching a Toronto Raptor basketball game I saw T.J. Ford, one of the fastest players in the league, rush down the court like a man possessed and proceed to throw the ball behind his back to a trailing Andrea Bargnani. The trouble was the ball sailed over the head of the seven-foot Bargnani into the second row of seats. Ford, himself, ended up with a beer and popcorn facial after landing in the lap of a front row patron. So what does this have to do with website design and marketing you ask? A lot.

LEADERSHIP MEANS BEING EXCELLENT AT ANY PLACE, ANY TIME
I've been playing tennis for nearly five decades. I love the game and I hit the ball well, but I'm far from the player I wish I were. I've been thinking about this a lot the past couple of weeks, because I've taken the opportunity, for the first time in many years, to play tennis nearly every day. My game has gotten progressively stronger. I've had a number of rapturous moments during which I've played like the player I long to be. And almost certainly could be, even though I'm 58 years old. Until recently, I never believed that was possible. For most of my adult life, I've accepted the incredibly durable myth that some people are born with special talents and gifts, and that the potential to truly excel in any given pursuit is largely determined by our genetic inheritance.

Tennis...a lesson in life
The title says it all! In tennis and in life we learn and grow from our experiences and the examples and metaphors in this article are sure to be helpful to tennis players and non-tennis players alike.

“Happy Talk and Happy Thoughts” Negative thoughts are BAD for you - Think happy thoughts and use happy talk to attract positivity
Your natural state is health and well-being, and this is promoted and maintained by positive energy, positive thoughts, positive talk and good feelings. Negative energy is simply not good for you. It causes tiredness, irritability, illness and disease. If it's in your system, it needs to be eliminated and to be kept out. I believe the only way to keep it out is to replace it with positive thoughts and words. You cannot “not think of a blue ball”. You have to think of a yellow ball.

How To Make Reality Catch Up.
In the late 1970s, Jim Fannin was coaching Adriano Panatta, one of the top-ranked tennis players in the world and a former French Open champion. He tells the story of Panatta’s quarterfinal match with one of the newcomers at an ATP tournament. “As the match unfolded, this low-ranked, left-handed, red-headed jerk of a guy has no respect for a top-ranked player in the world. He stalls. He berates an umpire. He yells at a ball kid. He crushes my player! We are humiliated!”

Honesty and Integrity Build a Foundation of Trust
Seven-year-old first baseman, Tanner Munsey, fielded a ground ball and tried to tag a runner going from first to second base. The umpire, Laura Benson, called the runner out, but young Tanner immediately ran to her side and said, "Ma'am, I didn't tag the runner." Umpire Benson reversed herself, sent the runner to second base, and Tanner's coach gave him the game ball for his honesty.

The Inner Game
In 1971 Tim Gallwey, founder of the Inner Game, was working as a tennis coach. Having captained the tennis team at Harvard, he was on sabbatical before finding a serious job. One day he noticed that when he left the court briefly, a student who had been stuck with a technical problem had improved, without his help, by the time he returned. He began to realise that people could teach themselves better while working alone than when being given conventional sports instruction by a coach.

Eye on the Ball
Like millions of people around the globe, I've been enjoying the World Series featuring my beloved St. Louis Cardinals, and at the same time, savoring a great football season. We all marvel at the talent and skill of professional athletes but, sometimes, it is baffling why the most highly-trained and talented people anywhere will fail to catch the most routine ball that comes to them. These are players who, in many cases, are paid millions of dollars a year for the sole purpose of catching a ball. And yet, on a significant number of occasions, they drop a ball that could have been caught by a Little League player.

Life throws a curve ball to all of us at one time or another. We get excited about something in our life, make big plans as to how we are going to achieve it or what our life will be like when we find success and then comes the curve ball, the unplanned, the unexpected. True entrepreneurial success is in all women its in finding an alternate route or plan. There is always an alternate route it just may not be so obvious. Life has lessons for us all, and the alternate route may in the end be the perfect route for you. It just may be a bumpier ride.
