| The intention of goal setting is to look toward the future and think of and plan for what you desire. Goals provide hope. My definition of hope is “Having Optimistic Predictions & Emotions.” However, goals can create your biggest stumbling block to getting what you desire.

| Before any action happens in the world, first there is a thought ... an idea ... a stroke of genius. This thought triggers the response into the physical world. So say for example you want to pick up your coffee cup – your brain thinks the thought and then sends electrical impulses and chemicals to your arm muscles which in turn extend and contract to pick up your cup. But your eyes first assess how far away the cup is and how potentially heavy the cup is before you lift it – otherwise you would knock it over or spill the contents.
What happens in many businesses is they miss the thought stage – leaping into action before fully have completed the thought action. As a result, mistakes and errors are made which mean re-work and wasted effort.

Pope John Paul II was noted for his "stand up for life" call to action.
The charities that you support have calls to action that either inspire you or embarass you into giving.
Yesterday, Barack Obama included a call to action in his inaugural speech. |

| An action plan could be thought of as a smaller version of your business plan. It could even be thought of as a band-aid to temporarily fix what ails your business. Or it could be a pretty fast and incredibly powerful tool to help bring your business into the now. To help you decide here is an outline and an action plan example to help you on your way. |

Action Plan Example

| Action plans are fairly common in business, but probably done wrong as often as not. A lot of people do not understand what an action plan is and often mistake it for a COE or Correction Of Errors, not one of my favorite types of documents. Having a good action plan starts with an understanding of what an action plan is and a great action plan example would be a huge help in this.
An action plan is a forward looking document and should be addressed as one. When looking at an action plan example one should take this into account. Action plans prevent business gaffs, keep everyone on task and help smooth out operations. In a way they could be considered a mini business plan, though I tend to look at them as a working business plan. |

| When I started my online business I did not give much thought to my target market. I grabbed on to a bunch of marketing strategies and just let it rip; without giving any thought as to what might be the consequences. And surely, the results were abysmal. Not because the traffic to my website was not high, but because the visits were not converting into leads. That clearly indicated that I am not attracting targeted leads – a clear evidence of action without planning. |
