Is There a Vaccine for Social Media?
With the upcoming segment "Socially Branded Journalism: Crossing the Generational Divide," in which I talk with Dr. John Tantillo regarding social media and the "personal branding" phenomenon's impact on the difference between opinion and research-based news, one cannot help but consider the ongoing debate regarding vaccination. It is an area in which after considerable personal research I believe remains a complex matter of competing truths and partial-truths where both sides of the issue are to a certain degree obfuscated by self-interest.

Coaching Tip: Identify Your Core Values
Your values are the principles, beliefs and attitudes that guide your decisions, actions and behaviors. Your core values reflect who you are and represent your heart. They define and distinguish who you are as a person – what matters most to you, what you stand for (and stand on) as your inner foundation. When you act in a way that is in conflict with your heart, your life feels more like a struggle, unhappiness grows, you can feel disconnected from your SELF. When you make choices and take actions that line up with your values, you will experience greater peace and abundance.

Maxwell: Oil to $300 by 2020
Thoughtful comments on oil from veteran oil analyst Charlie Maxwell in weekend Barron's:

Which Client Are You?
Growth and profitability for your firm is less about acquiring and maintaining more clients, and more about strategic selection and retention. Many (most) firms grapple with this concept, as it appears counter-productive to expend energy in acquiring clients, only to let some of them go, and there’s always the consideration of the potential that a particular client may bring to the firm in the future. Unless clients are proactively managed through a client growth process, the value to your firm will be realized a lot more slowly and the returns are unlikely to be as high when you let the client drive the process. The resources that your firm needs to employ in order to acquire and service your clients, is also a key consideration in how you grow your client base.
