My take on the ‘iPhone lite, ‘Apple Pad’
Sometimes the rumors get it right, sometimes not. But I think they’re at least half off on the reports of Verizon and Apple working together on an “iPhone lite” and/or an “Apple pad.” My take: the former isn’t coming, the latter is. Though not necessarily with Verizon.

Maybe it would be cheating but what if iPhones and iPod touches were tallied into the total for Macs sold during a quarter? Imagine what that would do for the Mac’s market share.

The upcoming iPhone OS 3.0 should finally break down my barriers and convince me to buy an iPhone. IF the AT&T service in my neck of the woods has really improved by then, as I’ve been promised. When—or if—I take the plunge, I hope to be getting a 32GB iPhone.

Trip Chowdhry, a Global Equities Research analyst, says you shouldn’t expect revamped Mac desktops anytime soon—at least ones with big changes. Tough economic times, a shrinking desktop market and strong notebook sales make this an unwise move for Apple, he told Wired. However, not releasing new desktops is a terrible idea—and totally against Apple’s “DNA,” according to the Sellers Research group.

"Macsimum News" Editor Dennis Sellers doesn't think we'll see the cheap iPhone and Apple-branded television that some analysts are predicting.

Jobs' departure, though hopefully temporary, had to happen sooner or later
Whether or not Steve Jobs is leaving Apple temporarily or not (and I'm betting this is the beginning of a long-term transfer of leadership), the iconic leader will leave the company sooner or later. And it's time people accepted this.
