Practice Patience – “They” Aren't on Your Time Frame

Patience is a virtue. This cliché is the essence of running a work at home business. Impatience can breed failure if you aren't careful. One of the most important areas in which patience is needed, is realizing that YOUR time schedule and your potential CLIENT's or RECRUIT's time schedule may be totally off synch from each other. Whether you are looking at recruiting someone for your business opportunity or attempting to sell your product/service to someone, you need to realize that these contacts and potentials aren't as anxious about your business as you are. Don't get caught up in your own time table that you disregard and in essence toss out contacts that could very well be the best people for your business.

Become an Organized Caregiver: Master the Art of Herding Cats

Recently I received a call from a woman who attended my Balancing Work & Eldercare Needs seminar about a year ago asking if I would email or fax to her the information on "Mastering the Master Schedule". Apparently, with 2 kids entering middle school, she was feeling overwhelmed - much the same way she did when taking care of her father - like she was herding cats! She said she remembered how much the master schedule had helped her and her sister organize their father's care and thought it would be perfect to get her children's schedule under control, too!!

Why Are Meetings One Hour Long?

| The vast majority of meetings in the business world are scheduled for one hour. I think this is a paradigm we should challenge for several reasons.
1. Like an old habit, we just fall into the pattern without even thinking about it.
2. We lose track of those extremely valuable minutes within the hour format. We can do better than that.
3. The meeting itself is often inefficient as there is time to schmooze for the first 20 minutes or so, and most of the decisions occur in the final 10 minutes of a meeting.
There are many techniques for squeezing more usable time from our daily schedule – and we really need them. Next time you schedule a meeting, try making it 50 minutes rather than an hour. It will emphasize the importance of the minutes and save time in the bargain.
