New School Year: Lessons from a Middle Schooler
Today is the first day of school in Michigan and I am the new mom to a Middle Schooler!. Time has flown so quickly. It seems like just yesterday that I was holding him in the rocking chair in his room. I remember looking at his little legs and thinking to myself, “some day his legs will hang over mine when he sits on my lap. I can’t even imagine it.” And now here we are, it’s been years since he’s spent any time on my lap. His legs would almost hit the ground, all in the blink of an eye. Where has the time gone? Recently I spoke with someone whose mother just died. During our conversation, I asked how his father was doing. He said, "My dad is doing amazingly well under the circumstances. Mom was not well for a long time, and Dad stayed by her side every day. He has lived each day with no regrets." If someone you loved were to die tomorrow, could you say the same thing? You CAN'T turn back the hands of time. You CAN live your life so that there's no unfinished business at the end of each day. Never put off something important for tomorrow if you can do it today. Take some time now to identify what you can DO OR BEGIN TODAY that will enable you to live a life with no regrets down the road.
Time Management Equals Great Outcome!
That is if you do it correctly, effectively and simply. There are hundreds of processes out there, taking you down thousands of roads with millions of forms, but, but, but how effective are they? Like all things, the methods work for some, and not for others. Today I just want to talk about simple outcome management and how to get the greatest results, for the time we have. Face it, we cannot buy time, we cannot generate it, it is the great equalizer. We all get 24/7/365.25. That is it. How we deal with it, can and does make all the difference in the world. Some get so much done and have time left, while other are always running out of time. Let's see if we can get to the group that has time left for more of life.
