Finding the hidden Intellectual Property (IP) value in procurement contracts (Future Path Profile)

| Looking beyond what Future Path President and CEO Greg Waite referred to as the “casual conversation” surrounding the issue of Intellectual Property (IP) rights within the majority of procurement contracts, I thought of my own work as a consultant.
I am often retained by both public and private sector organizations to prepare studies or reports on a variety of topics ranging from the viability of digital signatures within the contract routing process to assessing the changing technological landscape and its impact on current as well as contemplated e-procurement strategies.

How to Begin a Conversation

Successful people are dynamic communicators. Dynamic communicators have mastered three basic communication skills: conversation, writing and presenting. Inviting people to participate in a conversation and getting their agreement before jumping in is an important, but often overlooked conversation skill. People who are invited to join a conversation, and choose to do so, are more likely to be better participants. If you want to become an excellent conversationalist, take a few minutes to explain why you want to have a conversation. Ask the other person if he or she has the time and is willing to participate in a conversation on that topic. Your conversations will be better and more productive if you follow this simple common sense advice.

Grab more blog readers without losing your brand identity

It’s essential that you maintain your brand values and image on your blog, but when the world is your oyster when it comes to blog topics, it can be hard to know where to draw the line for relevance. Typically with blogs to attract the greatest number of readers within the target audience, I suggest that we look at topics that are relevant to the broader industry not a very specific niche.
