Stop Singin' the Blues
| |
| Sometimes home based business owners need to hear some "tough love”. It isn’t necessarily fun to hear, but at times, it is needed to make sure that you are staying on track with how you should be running your business.
I am worn out from hearing the "poor poor me" bit; the complaining over and over again. Instead of whining about your situation, DO something about it. Instead of making excuses about WHY you can't succeed, leap into action to change things. |

Lesson #2: Do It Yourself
| |
| “I love my product,” said Lauder. “I love to touch the creams, smell them, look at them, carry them with me. A person has to love her harvest if she’s to expect others to love it.” Because of Lauder’s love for her company, she took a very hands-on approach to its operations, getting her hands dirty in everything from production to marketing to sales. She understood the importance of hiring a good team, but her desire for perfection and quality drove her to want to control all aspects of her company, at least until it got too big for her to handle alone. |

| |
| By John Doerr
“And if you can't be with the one you love, honey, love the one you're with,
love the one you're with, love the one you're with, love the one you're with.…”
- Stephen Stills
Why does it seem that our clients (and prospects) too often take the advice of seventies rock stars when selecting their professional services providers? Perhaps the following story will shed some light.

User interface, brand, content top considerations when choosing a new mobile phone
| |
| Though there are rumors that the iPhone will be coming to Verizon soon (something I'd love to see), I'm dubious it will happen (at least until 2011). I'd also love to see the pricey AT&T/iPhone data plan reduced, especially with these tough economic times. In lieu of either of these happening, it will be the sheer user friendliness of the iPhone that keeps it selling. |

EXPRESS YOUR LOVE!
| |
| In order to experience love from others we need to experience and express love for ourselves first. Part of how we can express love for ourselves, is to share our love with others. You can deepen your self-love through healthy outward expressions of love for others. These questions will help you start thinking about how you want love to show up and be expressed in your life. |

Sue Grafton is a Success Because She Loves What She Does
| |
| Successful people have a clearly defined purpose for their life. Sue Grafton's purpose is writing mystery stories that entertain large numbers of people. My purpose is helping others succeed. My friend's purpose was creating better surgical equipment. What is your purpose? It should be something you love. If you don't love it, you'll get burned out and see your work as a grind. If you love what you do, you see your work as a gift and something to which you look forward every day. As we approach the end of 2009, spend some time thinking about what you truly love doing. Then, and more important, think about how you can make doing what you love your life's work. |

Fall In Love With Yourself

| Avoid making falling in love with yourself into a chore or another opportunity to blame yourself for any shortcomings. Love yourself the way you love others. Go out of your way to see the best in you and be glad of it, it's your birthright! |

You Can't Give What You Don't Have
| |
| How can you truly love another if you have not learned to love yourself? How can you trust others if you cannot trust yourself? How can you value the things around you if you place no value in yourself? How can you forgive someone you love if you have not yet forgiven yourself? These are deep but profound questions that hold an important but simple truth. It is true that we can't give what we don't have and it is when we learn to give to ourselves first that we can ultimately give our best to the people we love most. |

THINGS YOU MIGHT FIND DIFFICULT
| |
| “Love means never having to say you’re sorry!” You may or may not be old enough to remember that line from the movie; “LOVE STORY,” which believe it or not came out all the way back in 1970. I suppose the rationale for what was meant here was that love is unconditional and therefore does not require apologies.
Combining love with apologizing seemed like a good lead into what I wanted to write about this month. Life presents us with all kinds of challenges and at times there are a number of things all of us find difficult. Two of those in particular that many find difficult are; saying we’re sorry and telling someone we love them! |
