Who is Your Worst Critic?
| |
| Most of us do not have to look far to find our own worst critic. We just need to look in the mirror. Even though it is not good for our physical or spiritual health, we all tend to dwell on what we need to do better.
There is an antidote to the malaise, and it is easier that we think. All we need to do is re-train our minds to avoid dwelling on our deficiencies. Easier said than done? Not really. There are three simple steps you can take that will alter your self perception if you have the will to do them.

Will Your Talented Employees Stay
| |
| We are at the end of three years of an employers’ market. Lack of job opportunities has kept employees who might want to leave for greener pastures and those who are dissatisfied with jobs, bosses, or their work environment put. Even in industries that traditionally experience high employee turnover, there has been little movement.
Because people have had nowhere to go even when they have wanted to, leaders have not had to “Love them or lose them.” It has been easy to, “Use them and they will stay anyway.”

Want to Change Employee Behavior? Change Yourself First
| |
| The greatest epiphany we see in the managers, supervisors and team leaders we train and coach is that the behaviors (good and bad) of the workgroup often reflect the approach taken by the leader. After learning how to be more constructive, supervisors will say that employees are being more positive, helpful and accountable. The leader changed first - then the employees changed! |

Great Leaders Know the Value of Candid Feedback
| |
| What do people really think of you? Do you even care? Do you care too much? Many of the managers and executives I coach and train start off by being surprised and maybe even slightly insulted to think that they need to improve their leadership skills. After all, they wouldn't have been promoted if they weren't competent... or would they?

How to be an elite Sales-Athlete
| |
| I call anyone serious about selling a 'sales athlete'. If you look at elite athletes, many if not all, seldom step outside the realms of what they do best. It's very hard to achieve an elite level in life, sport or selling - multi-tasking. In particular if multi tasking requires a completely different or contradictory set of skills. |

| Last year I researched a number of organizations that had an exceptional business. Among the many things that I learned was that each one is focused on environmental issues. The level of environmental focus varied from one organization to another, but the consistent finding was that the commitment started at the top, it came from the leader. |

TV Stations –9 Basic Social Media Suggestions

The good news is TV Stations have realized the train left the station. The Power of YES!

Human Resources Software
| |
| We’ve heard it all before: it takes almost three times as much money to recruit and train new employees than it does to retain and train the ones you already have. As such, small business owners are often willing to do whatever it takes to streamline their operations and ensure they are looking after their staff. Productive and efficient employees are those that are not only well qualified and trained, but also managed. To achieve that, many entrepreneurs turn to human resources software to help them better understand how their company’s human resources are performing, and where improvements need to be made. |

By the time I got off at King's Cross, many of the characters in the books had already been invented.” |
