Ask a great question... and just listen... don't fall into the temptation of answering your own question or guessing at the answer.

FIVE STEPS TO GETTING THE FEES YOU KNOW YOU DESERVE
By John Doerr One of the most common laments I hear from service business executives goes like this: "Our services are becoming a commodity. Everyone is out there saying they can do the same thing we do, pushing fees further and further down. Prospects are just buying on price." Unfortunately as service providers, there are aspects of what we provide that have become commodities. Price competition is rampant. However, if you follow these five steps to provide value before, during, and after the sales process, you will get the fees you know you deserve.

Connecting With Speakers
Mark Goulston writes: When following a presentation by an important person at a convention there is a call for comments or questions and there is dead silence, the last thing that speaker thinks is that he or she has been profound.

How to Affirm Peace and Life Balance
"It's really the space between the notes that makes the music you enjoy so much. Without the space, all you would have is one continual noisy note. Everything that is created comes out of silence. Your thoughts emerge from the nothingness of silence. Your words come out of this void. Your very essence emerged from emptiness." Dr. Wayne Dyer

Smart Women Get Uncomfortable
This article is about getting uncomfortable and trying new things in life. When we have the opportunity to try new things, we have two choices: Say yes to something new, or say No and stay right where we are in our comfort zone. Sometimes in order to realize our passion and find our purpose in life, we have to get uncomfortable. We have to be willing to take a risk to live a life full of passion, purpose and meaning.

Sales Secrets of the Golden Silence
I attended a sales training course a number of years ago and the trainer was talking about closing techniques. I remember he said on several occasions 'ask for the order and then keep quiet' he had plastered all over the walls in the training room silence can be golden.

Starting New Habits is Uncomfortable … But Necessary for Success!
Well I survived my first day of my new commitments, and you know what? It wasn't that bad! I'm not saying that it was easy. If I did ... I'd be lying! Every time we start new habits it is very uncomfortable, but if we continue to do things the same way over and over and follow our old habits ... we can expect to live with the uncomfortable feeling of never achieving more. In my opinion, the second we stop striving to become better, we begin to die. You tell me ... What could be more uncomfortable than death?

Silence to the Fifth Power
You turn them off! And if by magic, you can think again, and envision again, and create again, and dialogue again, and feel a sense of newly regained energy, “again”. That is Silence to the Fifth Power.

Painfully Employed: They got it bad and that aint good
When I was 13, I heard my great aunt say that she purchased an expensive car because she hated her job and needed an incentive to stay. Years later, when I struggled with my own discontent and watched others struggles with theirs, her words resonated with me. I may have been gainfully employed at the time, but I felt painfully employed. During my struggle, I vacillated between excitement, swinking (not quite swimming, not quite sinking) and painful employment: excited with any new opportunities, swinking when they didn't fulfill my expectations, and painfully employed when I became too comfortable being uncomfortable. Three words, "comfortable being uncomfortable," and one quote, "if you don't know what port you are sailing to, no wind is favorable," summed up my painful employment.

Stillness for mastering modern day living
If you are looking for a powerful tool to stay calm and focused under pressure and to increase your creativity then a daily dose of silence and stillness is what you need.

Think Time
How often do you take time to just sit and think? To close the door on all the noise; put on some music or sit in silence and just ponder those things that require your attention? My guess, if you're like most people, you don't really take a lot of time to think.

Leading Cross-Cultural Conflict Resolution
Interpretive misunderstanding is central to cross-cultural conflict resolution. When dealing with Asian culture, for example, Westerners often interpret their silence as consent.
