Shhh! Listen, Don't Just Hear
| |
| L:istening is our most used communication skill yet the least taught from kindergarten through college. Many people think they are listening when all they are doing is hearing, the first in a six-step hierarchical listening process. Read this article carefully so you don't make the same mistake! |

Give it your all and grow through technology
| |
| Advice For Startups - Give it your all. A lot of people start a business and will try to run it initially on a part-time basis. They also have a fall back job, just in case the business doesn’t develop. If you’re to succeed you have to commit to the project. You really have to put 100% into it. It may mean not having a steady stream of money coming in the door (in other words, being poor for the first few years as the business develops a client list). I don't think you can make a go of it if you only put some time into it rather than your full undivided attention. You have to give up everything else and put 100% into your company. You have to do it full time - sales, marketing, accounting and client servicing. |

Integrity as a Catalyst
| |
| Integrity has always been one of the qualities I admire and respect most in others. The definition of integrity is: The quality or condition of being whole or undivided; completeness. Simply put, someone who lives in integrity honors their personal values - actions and choices align with an internal code. There is nothing inside that is divided; they are whole. Honesty is another dimension to integrity -- spoken words reflecting the inner world without distortion. Integrity is also about honoring your word and following through with commitments. defi |

How to Use Active Listening to Enhance Communication Skills?
| |
| In today’s world, communication skill is critical. A good part of communication skill is listening skills. A good listener shows that he is interested in what the other person has to say and through active listening can demonstrate his or her interest in the topic.
Active listening is a skill that everyone can learn. All you need to do is to follow a set of principles and keep practising until you get it right. Active listening is about showing your undivided attention to others in a way to maximise the effectiveness of the communication while also showing the other person that you are listening to them. |

What Does Integrity Have To Do With Your Company?
| |
| Integrity is the hallmark of a person with high morale character. Each day we all have opportunities to show our integrity by the choices that we make – both personally and professionally. Sadly many times what we hear and read are examples of people with little or no integrity. It’s the people that make the business. The dictionary defines integrity as steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code, being unimpaired, sound, whole and undivided; completeness. As a leader, where do you see integrity or lack of integrity in your team or organization? What steps can be taken right now to raise your organization’s level of integrity? It takes 21 consecutive days of committed actions to change a behavior. Take the time to make an honest appraisal of the rules, morals or principles that are guiding your business. |

New Penn State Coach - Just Like Dysfunctional Sales Management
| |
| Officials at Penn State will introduce Bill O'Brien as their first new head football coach in nearly 50 years. He will be responsible for rebuilding the football program and through that, the image of the school. That will be one difficult job and it begins immediately.
Today, Bill O'Brien is still the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots. Because the Patriots are the #1 seed in the playoffs, Bill O'Brien has another challenging job - preparing and helping the Patriots offense, led by future Hall of Fame Quarterback Tom Brady, to compensate for their own pathetic defense, as they attempt to advance to another Super Bowl championship.
Bill O'Brien. One coach - two full time jobs. Both teams need his immediate, undivided attention and won't get all that they need. |
