Impossible Achievements
| |
| Last weekend, I did something that I thought was impossible. I broke a piece of wood into two pieces with my bare hand. I was in total shock afterward, but a good kind of shock. Breaking that wood was such a stretch for me that afterward, my mind started to play tricks on me. I wondered if I did really do it. Luck for me, there was a room full of people watching me and could verify that I did actually do it. AND I have the piece of wood to prove it! |

Canada’s Global Face - New Market Opportunities at Home
| |
| In the past 14 years 3.1 million people have immigrated to Canada and these people are not from the traditional European communities (In that period approximately 800,000 immigrants were from Europe, and the UK). This can create new opportunities for companies seeking to increase their market share at home and overseas.

Selling Is About Helping People
| |
| When you were a young child do you remember people asking you what you wanted to be when you grew up? Do you remember what you said? If you have your own children and ask them this same question, what will they say? The typical answer from an average kid is something like doctor, lawyer, teacher, policeman, fireman, and the like. What do these professions have in common? They all help people. A child might even say an athlete, who helps people by entertaining them. Or even an astronaut, who helps people by furthering the progress of mankind as a whole. Although in the latest news, I’m not sure that animal-abusing athletes and drunken astronauts are good role models these days, but I digress. |

THE APOSTILLE PROCESS
| |
| I had my doctoral degree apostilled by the then US secretary of state (General Colin Powell – Ret.), thereby making it a recognized degree in every country that signed the Hague convention in the year 1961. Seventy-eight countries in all. Most people ask me why I got my degree apostilled. This is usually followed by the question, what is apostille? |

Are You Limiting Your Thinking
| |
| The more interesting and enlightening you are, the more people will welcome you into their lives and the more opportunity will abound.
Learning is not limited to going to school or getting a degree. It's surprising that many people stop feeding their minds after a certain point. For some, that point is high school graduation; for others, it's graduating from college. A large university once took a survey of its recent graduates and found that 90 percent hadn't read a single book since they'd left the university. |

A Modern Hermit
| |
| Jan Opdyke gave me her story of living alone as an entrepreneur, deep in the woods of Michigan. She not only poses as a model for a way to live and work, she also is the person who typed my Ph.D. dissertation back when we were classmates at The University of Michigan. The year was 1977. Without her help, I could not have gotten my doctoral degree on time. |

Arthritis is Not Caused by Old Age
| |
| Arthritic aches and pains are a major issue in our ageing workforce. According to Professor Paul Hodges from University of Queensland's School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences body aches, pains and injuries are the second most expensive cause of lost productivity at work and health care expenditure. Only cardiovascular disease costs our society more. If arthritis was caused by old age, as implied by many welll-meaning physicians, surely all of our body would be worn out to the same degree because it's all the same age. |

How To Do Highly Effective Articles Marketing
| |
| I would like to share with you today one of the most powerful traffic generation methods that had helped me tremendously when I first started. It was back then in 2005-2006, when I was just a normal student who was going to enter the university. At that time, I joined the writer's club in the university hopefully to gain some experience in writing. We wrote and published a tiny entertainment magazine for our fellow peers and undergraduates in the whole university. |

Leadership - The Skills You Must Cultivate
| |
| No one has all the skills of management or leadership to the same degree, any more than they have the personality traits to the same degree. However, it is much easier to learn or acquire skills than it is to develop new personality traits. There are five basic skills and the degree to which any individual cultivates those skills may well determine the degree of their success.

The Real I.Q.
| |
| My university degree is in psychology/sociology. While making my way through my academic career, I remember studying an inordinate amount about the I.Q. (Intelligence Quotient). While a measurement of intelligence may have some validity in psychological or sociological circles, I can think of few things less meaningful in the real world.
