Enjoying the Moment
Many years ago my family and I used to go to my then husband’s parent’s home for holiday meals. His mother was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for us. She spent days preparing all the season’s delights and we came to the table eager to begin the festivities. Invariably when 20 minutes later we were happily full she would lament, "It took me 3 days to prepare and 20 minutes for you to eat it!"

Building Good Relations with the Media
Some PR’s may claim “personal media contacts” are the key to successful PR. Exercising these media contacts may involve them charging meals and drinks to your account. Don’t entertain this notion. Good PR is about developing a sound professional relationship with journalists - that means providing them with the information and opportunities they need to interest their readers. Adrian Maguire of online PR specialist, www.CLICKintoPR.com, outlines ten things you should do and five things not to do.

Anger and Stress Increase Risk for Heart Disease: What to Do
Are you still of the mindset that you could not be at risk for Cardio Vascular Disease because you take good care of your body? So you don't drink, you don't smoke, you don't toke, sniff, or chew... you exercise, eat low-fat, water rich foods, and you stay away from greasy cholesterol-laden meals. But - healthy as your lifestyle may be, if you struggle with anger and stress issues, you may still be at risk for heart disease. A recent report gives us all the "dish".

Jenny Craig Recipes
One of the cornerstones of the Jenny Craig weight loss program is its food. But you don’t have to buy their prepackaged meals to take advantage of the knowledge and creativity of the nutritionists that work there. They have compiled a number of recipes, on which their prepackaged meals are based, and offer them to their clients as an alternative. Should clients wish to try cooking for themselves and establishing a healthy lifestyle change, these Jenny Craig recipes are here to help.

How many people does it take to change a light bulb
I was told about a recent article in the Weekend Australian Magazine. The article looked at a study by the University of Chicago. that found that if we excluded all animal based foods, including dairy and eggs, from our diet, that change would benefit the environment more than buying an eco-friendly car. Apparently 23% of a typical Australian diet comes from animal sources and so generates almost 1.5 tonnes more greenhouse gases per person per year than a vegan diet of the same calories.

Leaving the Sheep Behind: Marriott Hits It Big
In 1937, Marriott’s Hot Shoppe No. 8 became the home of his next innovation. Since it was located near an airport, Marriott noticed that airline passengers would often stop off to his store and buy lunch to eat on board. With that came Marriott’s idea to sell pre-boxed meals directly to airlines. It was the launch of an entire new industry, and Marriott was soon selling lunches to more than 20 flights a day from that one airport.

Six a day, six days a week
Need a basic but realistic recipe for a balanced diet? Go for six ‘airplane-sized’ meals a day, six days a week (no, not the size of an actual airplane…but the size of the meals they serve you on board).

GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE
I could just tell by the look of them they were going to be difficult. There were going to want to split their meals, order a half salad, half French fries. They were the type that when they ordered a strawberry sundae it they would make some ridiculous request for a dab of whipping cream. Not a dollop. And God help her if one of them orders a milkshake. She’d be at the milkshake maker up to her elbows in chocolate ice cream.

Crunchy
The term 'crunchy granola' has been shortened to crunchy, a term used to describe people who willingly alter their lifestyle to make less of an impact on the environment. It's crunchy to give up your car for a bike, or to use mesh companies or to become vegan.

Digital Bytes – The Challenge of Balancing Real, Virtual Worlds
People jog off cliffs, they walk into manholes, they walk into the middle of the street without looking, they go through meals never looking away from their screen -- regardless of which one it is -- updating their social media, viewing/responding to emails...moving around the virtual world missing some of the really neat stuff going on in the real world. Hey we're guilty too!!
