The True Measure of Abundance: An Extraordinary Life
| |
| One of my clients used the expression, “earning a living,” and it struck me that this phrasing is so painfully close to saying “earning a life.” If we equate earning money with earning the right to live, we are likely to find ourselves in what I call Endurance (yes, with a capital E). |

A story of inspiration and action for marketers
| |
| I love the John Jackson wakeup call in the morning in our business. Some of us need coffee, tea whatever it takes to perk you up first thing in the morning. For me it is the cup of leadership .This morning was no different except we all witnessed John tell a very heart rendering story about his dad who passed away 11 years ago and he became very emotional at one point as he fondly remembered his dad. There were many lessons to be learned from this story and I will share a few of the highlight moments of that call with you.

Tick tock your body clock
| |
| Are you a morning lark or a night owl? Regardless of whether you wake up early or stay up late, these patterns of waking up and sleeping are governed by your personal internal body clock; your Circadian Rhythm. What is a Circadian Rhythm? The Latin terms ‘circa’ and ‘diem’ is literally translated to mean ‘around a day’. Studies have shown that humans have a Circadian Rhythm of roughly 24 hours. |

The Philosopher
| |
| It was a heavy and wet morning when the trees let out quiet sighs, aching from the fresh weight of the evening’s frost. A man sat in his study watching exhausted leaves tremble and fall, spilling light with each pirouette. It was a morning not unlike any other for this man. He rose at seven, as was his custom. Washed his face with cool water and prepared for the morning’s conversation and walk with Mr. Wellington.

Each and every day this year can be a jump start towards getting everything you want out of life when you incorporate an attitude of discipline.
An Attitude of Discipline is greeting each day with gratitude. When you wake up in the morning, you are granted another day closer to living your dreams. Simply waking up each day is a poignant reason to be grateful. So many people will not wake up today.

Mission Impossible Buying a Great Business!
| |
| Remember the good old TV series Mission Impossible, the team who always got their man, well you can get your man too or, should I say business. It's similar to selling your house where location, location, location is the mantra but in the case of buying a business it's planning, planning, and planning. Yes, it's possible to find a pretty good business, but you're going to expend a lot of sweat, blood and tears in the process. So, before accepting the challenge, have a clear plan of action before embarking on this mission. As with all journeys, you'll need a comprehensive roadmap. It's no use waking up one Monday morning and saying to your self, Oh! I think I'll try and find my dream business today. This is a recipe for barrels of frustration and nothing to show for it, except a depleted bank balance... |

Positive Words Create Positive Actions
| |
| In our society today we tend to accentuate the negatives instead of the positives. One example is the “alarm clock” we use to wake ourselves up in the morning. Realistically, when we hear an alarm it generates fear or anxiety. When somebody robs a bank, an alarm is sounded; when there’s a fire, someone sounds an alarm. Perhaps waking up to an alarm helps explain the profusion of negative words we use. If you rethink the issue of your clock you will realize that it is really giving you an opportunity. When you hear it ring, you have the opportunity to get up and go. A whole day full of possibilities is available to you once you hear your “opportunity clock.” If you can’t hear it ring, that might mean you’ve gotten up and gone! That could be bad. |

Reflections
| |
| Waking up every morning and looking out to see the sun shining, still sends a tingle through me, the odd grey day makes me relish the others even more. It is a known fact that sunshine lifts your spirits and helps your system work well. But how quickly the days, turn into weeks, then months and hey yes another year gone!!!! I am sure that they are speeding up, or maybe it is that I am appreciating time more now. |

SLEEP - Waking up feeling great
| |
| All of us have a to do list. That list of tasks that will make our day. Of all the tasks we have to do, just waking up is likely the most difficult task of my day. Sleep is one of my favorite things. I love my pillow. Especially on one of those cold wintry mornings, leaving the warmth of my bed, leaving my wife "baby doll" to get up and go to work is a little demotivating.
Many of us have it simply listed as a time in the morning. However, did you know that the way in which you awaken every day, can determine how well your day will be? Today we'll explore 5 steps that will get you up, wake you up and charge you up for the rest of your day. |
