The Bank Blame Game Again
| |
| We're back doing the bank blame game, and I really wish it would stop. Can't we go back to beating up on credit rating agencies? That was more pleasurable, and much cheaper. We didn't have to spend billions to feel bad -- we could just cold-cock them on principle. |

Sorry to have been away so long
| |
| Yes, I do apologize. To be frank (right now I wish I was anyone
but me, yes, even Frank) I have been on the mend. The last tour
just about wiped me out and then this nasty speaker’s curse, the curse
of the throat, plagued me for weeks. Harsh, cough, gravel,
hurt. All of that and more. Which of course affected the
rest of me…will I ever be able to speak again? Oh, my goodness, is this
it? Am I on my way out? Weak, weak, weak. You get my
point. |

Sales Training London: W.A.I.T. and See
| |
| "He can talk the hind legs off a donkey", "she has the gift of the gab", "A born salesman" - are all probably reasons for you not to hire someone? Why?
Because they'll cost you a fortune. Anyone who talks more than they listen, anyone who doesn't entice the prospect to talk for at least 70% of the time (i.e. 42 minutes in every hour) is little use to me in sales. They'll bore your prospects into submission or death by powerpoint. Their referral base will be weak. Their relationships will be weak.
If I've described you I'm sorry. If I've described your staff, I feel for you. But a simple shift in behaviour could make all the difference to your success and profitability in sales. |

Beating the Blame Game
| |
| Whom do we blame when we fail? The short answer is "everyone but ourselves." Extensive research in psychology (Jones & Harris 1967, Ross 1977) has shown that when we fail, we tend to attribute the cause of our failure to reasons outside of ourselves: The market was weak. The inputs were poor. The weather was bad.

BRIC Countries: Unified in their Hatred of the Dollar
| |
| The BRIC ETF (EEB) and the US dollar have an inverse relationship; that is when the dollar is going down, the BRIC ETF is going up and vice versa. So it makes sense that some of the BRIC countries would like us to have a weak dollar. But yet we always hear that China is concerned about our weak dollar? What gives? What do they want from the dollar? |

Is Tech Over-Valued?
| |
| How much more upside potential is there after a 67% monster rally for the technology sector? After all, there are resistance levels the market tends to respect. Measuring Organizational and Team Energy Levels
| |
| We designed the "Energy Index" to help leaders dig deeper and uncover the root causes of why people they are trying to lead may not be mobilized and feel energized. The Index also points to areas that can be strengthened in order to further mobilize or energize a team or organization. The assessment is based on a five-point scale. 1 is extremely weak, 2 is fairly weak, 3 is moderate, 4 is fairly strong, and 5 is extremely strong.
