The boys found it very valuable and insightful, so I guess I might as well share it with you. So what did I tell them during that pep talk that left my team feeling inspired? I asked them, “Why is it that you, working as a technician, working in a hot and humid environment, and physically involved in hard manual labor, get paid so low compared to a manager who sits in an air-conditioned environment with no physical labor to his credit?” The answer that I got was, ‘Because the manager is more educated than us’, ‘Because the manager manages the whole show’, ‘Because the manager makes decisions’, etc. Now, let me ask YOU the same question.
