In tax season, stress comes with the territory. From working long hours in a compacted time period to balancing 200 clients at once, it is easy to have a stressful day. Balance is a luxury when work is your number one priority. And yet, how many times do we let the little things change a day from bad to worse? Little things that in the overall scheme of life simply are not very important. Debbie Lessin, the tax lady and balance queen, shares her newfound sense of balance this tax season in surviving the little things. A story of inspiration and action for marketers
I love the John Jackson wakeup call in the morning in our business. Some of us need coffee, tea whatever it takes to perk you up first thing in the morning. For me it is the cup of leadership .This morning was no different except we all witnessed John tell a very heart rendering story about his dad who passed away 11 years ago and he became very emotional at one point as he fondly remembered his dad. There were many lessons to be learned from this story and I will share a few of the highlight moments of that call with you.

The Philosopher
It was a heavy and wet morning when the trees let out quiet sighs, aching from the fresh weight of the evening’s frost. A man sat in his study watching exhausted leaves tremble and fall, spilling light with each pirouette. It was a morning not unlike any other for this man. He rose at seven, as was his custom. Washed his face with cool water and prepared for the morning’s conversation and walk with Mr. Wellington.

The Coin Laundromat Spring Bounce
The coin laundromat business is a very cyclical one, meaning that there are times when we can always count on heavy months (the winter time) and other times when the collections are a bit lighter than we would prefer (the summer). In an established coin laundromat, the gross revenue in the summer months is generally somewhere between 10 and 15% less than that of the winter months.

7 Day Challenge to Being Happier Today
So, what is this challenge that can make you happier in just 7 days? NO complaining for 7 days! Of course the goal is to keep it up after 7 days. :-) I’m not talking about just the big complaints… like “oh my gosh, the dog had another accident on the rug!” but also the little complaints like, “traffic is so slow this morning,” “it’s so cold outside, winter stinks, why won’t the kids pick up their toys, I hate these shoes, my co-worker is a jerk,” etc. We all do it, often without even realizing that we’re complaining.

What Do Leaders And Winter Have In Common?
I love Summer, I enjoy Spring, Fall is okay but Winter, man I am not a fan. For me Winter is too cold and too long. In my mind, I think let’s just get rid of Winter.

Lawn Care and Landscaping Franchises- Reclaiming Lawns and Reinventing Careers
After a historically intense winter, during which at one point 49 out of the 50 U.S. states had snow on the ground, people are eagerly embracing spring. However, the melted snow is revealing the damaging effects and the toll that the winter weather took on trees and landscaping. Resuscitating lawns, shrubs and trees that have been ravaged by a relentless winter is proving to be a boon for landscaping and lawn care businesses that restore lawns to their green glory.

That dog won’t hunt
Here we are at the end of March already. I was talking with a friend the other day about an old farmer’s adage we used to anticipate in March regarding the weather: “In like a lamb, out like a lion.” Or “In like a lion, out like a lamb.” The expectation was that if we had harsh winter weather at the beginning of March we would have mild weather at the end – and vice versa. I have no idea why that is expected but it reminds me of all the little clichés that we accept as reality. As farmers we also used to cite, “Red in the morning, sailors warning; red at night, sailors delight.”
