Art in the Corporate Environment

| I want to take up
the subject of
presentations and hope to
pass on some of our hard
won and often challenged,
expertise in this area!
This is kicked off with the
help of Stuart Price whose
article in an old old
edition of the MacUser
subscribers newsletter,
‘MacUser 2’, took the
words right out of our
mouths back in 1997
when we first saw it.
Well done Mr Price,
all these years later
your article is still valid!
Perhaps that’s not such a
good thing, but we’ll take

So with the very kind
permission of the
wonderful MacUser
(leading Mac Magazine),
it’s equally wonderful
editor, Karen Harvey and
the no less wonderful
writer himself Stuart
Price, we are including
here the very same article. |

Celebrate Every Achievement
| |
| In her book My Stroke of Insight, the author and Harvard brain scientist Jill Bolte Taylor documents her remarkable story. At the age of 37 years old, she suffered a stroke and then spent the next eight years making a full recovery. This involved learning to do the basics such as sit up in bed alone again, walk, talk, feed herself, drive, recall her memories, etc. The book is inspirational and also has some amazing pearls of wisdom. One of these pearls is how important it was for her to celebrate EVERY achievement no matter what the size. I found this attitude a wonderful one and would love all adults with ADHD to adopt too. She didn't say, "Oh, you can sit up on your own now, big deal, you could do that when you were one years old." That would have been discouraging after all her mental and physical effort it had taken. From Boxing to Business: How Foreman Won the Final Rounds
| |
| “I told a reporter in 1977 when I made my re-entry into boxing – I stood next to the church, it’s called the Church of Lord Jesus Christ. He asked me what I wanted in the future. I said, 20 years from today to be standing right there in front of that sign being the same human being I am today and you know what, I’ve been successful,” says Foreman. “20 years from today I still want to be that same guy speaking to you, happy, proud of what happened to me. I don’t have anything bad to say about anyone. I have great things to say about my country. I have a beautiful wife who has given me a wonderful family and wonderful kids, so we’re all pretty good. George is fine.” |
