Tiger Woods’ Unconventional Crisis Management Deserves An A Grade.

| In managing a crisis, conventional wisdom commands to talk to the media as quickly as possible, tell what you know, tell it all and promise more as soon as more information is known. As Tiger Woods copes with what he calls his "personal failings," his one car accident on November 27, 2009 at his estate, some have suggested he employs the conventional wisdom of crisis management. See Magic Johnson on Larry King, December 4, 2009.
Tiger Woods has so far resisted, choosing instead to employ an unconventional approach for which, in my opinion, he deserves an A in crisis management.

8 Ways to Translate Tiger Woods' Experiences into Sales Success

I was reading an article about Tiger Woods in Golf Digest . The article explored whether Tiger would be better or worse after he returned from surgery and rehabilitation on his knee. It went on to detail how effectively he played while injured and in great pain, and how much potential he had to be even better when he could move weight to his left leg. It also went on to describe his many potential distractions. Finally, I read a part of the article that talked about how prepared Tiger is for adversity.

Tiger Feeding Frenzy Reminds Me Of Nixon Quote

As I watched the panoply of media descending on the Tiger Woods story like a Saharan dust storm I was immediately reminded of a quote in which Richard Nixon standing before a picture of John F. Kennedy lamented, "when people look at you they see what they want to be . . . when they look at me they see what they are."

Entrepreneurs, Do You Have Mental Toughness?

I am sitting here watching Tiger Woods make a comeback from what is probably the biggest challenge is ever faced. Even the comebacks he made after the death of his father or the major surgery were not as great as the one he is trying to conquer this weekend. So, I asked myself, what makes one person more successful today than the other and the answer is mental toughness. Tiger could have quit and never come back but he is able to survive any setbacks thrown his way and bounced back stronger than ever because he is mentally tough.
